Notice on the Application for Science and Technology Progress Award and Technology Invention Award of CIN 2024

To all relevant units:
In accordance with the relevant provision of the China Institute of Navigation Science and Technology Award Regulations and the annual work plan, China Institute of Navigation now initiates the application and acceptance for the Science and Technology Progress Award and Technology Invention Award of CIN (hereinafter referred to as the "Progress Award and Invention Award") for the year 2024. The relevant matters are notified as follows:
I. Schedule
The application for the 2024 Progress Award and Invention Award is available for acceptance until September 15. Applications received after this date will be processed in the following year. Please prepare their application materials carefully and plan their time accordingly for all applying and recommending units.
II. Award Acceptance
1. Applications for the Progress Award should be innovative outcomes with independent intellectual property rights, which have achieved significant economic returns or social effect. The overall technology of the award applications must have been applied and practically verified for over a year, namely, the overall technology application this year should have been
completed before December 31, 2022. This year, new projects in standard research are also eligible for application, including international standards (issued by ISO, IEC, ITU and other international organizations), national standards, industry standards, group standards, local standards and enterprise standards that have been implemented in the field of navigation for over a year.
2. Applications for the Invention Award application project should have authorized intellectual property rights, and the overall technology must have been applied and practically verified for over a year, namely, the overall technology application this year should have been completed before December 31, 2022. The number of contributors typically should not exceed six people and the first 3 should be the inventors of the intellectual property rights listed in the "Main Intellectual Property Rights Catalogue" in the nomination letter.
III. Application Requirements
For the Progress Awards (except for standard research projects) and the Invention Awards, please log in to the Science and Technology Service System of CIN at http://kjfw.cinnet.cn to fill in the application. The operation process, can be found the system operation guide (in Annex 1).
Standard research projects need to submit three copies (including one original) of CIN Science and Technology Award (Standard Research Category) Recommendation Letter (see Attachment 2) and related proof materials in both paper and electronic versions (Word and PDF) on a USB drive. The content of the electronic and paper materials should be consistent.
IV. Other Matters
1. According to the national regulations on Science and Technology Award and the relevant requirements of the Science and Technology Award Regulations of CIN, projects with the same technical content shall not be declared for the same type of award through multiple channels in the same year. If discovered, the qualification for review shall be revoked.
2. Applying Units and individuals should strengthen scientific ethics, improve academic practice, adhere to the principles of strict , meticulous, rigorous, and harsh scientific and technological innovation work, advocate a scientific , rational, equal, and solid work style, and resolutely prevent fake innovation, pseudo-innovation, and the exaggerated evaluation of scientific and technological achievements in project applications.
