The 12th China International Rescue & Salvage Conference held in Nanning

On May 22, the 12th China International Rescue & Salvage Forum (CIRSC) was hosted in Nanning, Guangxi Autonomous Region. Over 200 representatives from more than 130 domestic and international organizations gathered to exchange ideas and discuss the opportunities and challenges faced by the rescue and salvage industry in the new era. The subject of the 12th CIRSC is “Focusing on Technological Innovation, Building Modernized Professional Rescue and Salvage System”, promoting high-quality development of water transportation and water-related industries.

He Jianzhong, Chairman of the China Institute of Navigation (CIN), and Wang Lei, Director of China Rescue and Salvage of Ministry of Transport of the People’s Republic of China, attended this conference and delivered speeches. Professor Yan Xinping from Wuhan University of Technology and Director of State Key Laboratory of Maritime Technology and Safety, Hu Ya’an, Chief Engineer of Nanjing Hydraulic Research Institute, James Herbert, Secretary-General of the International Salvage Union, and Caroline Jupe, CEO of the International Maritime Rescue Federation (IMRF), delivered keynote speeches on hot topics and key issues about the salvage industry. More than 30 domestic and foreign experts and scholars shared cutting-edge achievements in the field of salvage, presenting a remarkable academic exchange.

Hosted by the China Institute of Navigation (CIN) and co-organized by China Rescue and Salvage Association (CRSA), this conference attracted representatives from countries such as Australia, Japan, Thailand, Singapore, Bangladesh, and Morocco, as well as representatives from the Fire Services Department, Government Flying Service, and Civil Aviation Department of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. During the conference, an exhibition and exchange of rescue technology equipment were also held.

Starting in 2004, CIRSC has been successfully held for 12 consecutive sessions. With its growing scale and expanding topics of discussion, the conference’s industry influence has been increasing. It has now developed into an important academic exchange platform that crosses national boundaries, departments, and industries. It serves as a window for displaying the latest trends, releasing innovative achievements, and showcasing advanced technological equipment in the field of rescue and salvage, playing a significant role in deepening domestic and international scientific exchanges and cooperation in the field of rescue and salvage, and promoting the high-quality development of the industry.
