Notice on initiating the compilation of the China Navigation Science and Technology Development Report (2025 Edition)

The innovation in navigation science and technology is fundamental to building China’s strength in shipping, transportation and maritime. In order to enhance China's original innovative capabilities in navigation science and technology, strengthen the ability to cultivate new quality productive forces in the field of navigation, and accelerate the realization of high-level self-reliance and strength in China's navigation science and technology, the China Institute of Navigation (CIN) has decided to initiate the compilation of the “China Navigation Science and Technology Development Report

 (2025 Edition)” according to its annual work plan.

This report will summarize and analyze the achievements and shortcomings of China's navigation science and technology development over the past five years (2020-2024), compare the gaps between China and other countries and analyze the reasons behind these gaps predict the development trends and progress in key areas for the next five years and beyond. Catering the needs of the construction of China’s strength in transportation, maritime and shipping and the realization of high-level self-reliance and strength in China’s navigation science and technology, it will propose the key development directions, goals, strategies, and policy recommendations for China's navigation science and technology sector by 2030 and 2035.

To effectively carry out this work, the CIN has drafted the “Compilation Plan for the China Navigation Science and Technology Development Report (2025 Edition)” based on consultations with relevant units and solicitation of opinions. This plan is now being distributed to all relevant units. Leading units, assisting units, and participating units mentioned in the plan are requested to assign for professional personnel to undertake the corresponding work and complete the tasks with high quality according to the time schedules.
