As one of the activities of the China Maritime Week 2023, the final of the Speech Competition to Promote the Spirit of Navigation in the New Era was held at the Cangzhou International Convention Center on July 14. It was conducted through offline competition and online live streaming. After preliminary selection, 30 participants in the navigation field participated in the final.

This competition is organized by the China Institute of Navigation, Hebei Science and Technology Association, People's Government of Cangzhou, National Energy Investment Group Co., Ltd., Water Transport Science Research Institute of the Ministry of Transport, China Seamen Construction Union, and China Transportation Association, with the theme of "Promoting the Spirit of Navigation in the New Era". According to the competition rules, each contestant gave a 4-minute speech on their own topic, and the judges rated the contestants from aspects such as content, language expression, and overall image. During the competition, the contestants combined their personal experiences and expressed their sailing dreams with sincere emotions and vivid language. Their wonderful speech won applause from the judges and audience. After intense competition, 3 first prizes, 7 second prizes, and 20 third prizes were ultimately selected. On that day, 350 primary and secondary school students from Cangzhou and 50 representatives from relevant enterprises and institutions watched the competition on-site.

The competition aims to further promote and practice the spirit of navigation in the new era, and tell the story of Chinese navigation well. Participants expressed that as members of the maritime power in the new era, they must fulfill their responsibilities and missions, deepen the promotion of maritime culture and spirit, and contribute to building a maritime power.
