Professor Li Ying of Dalian Maritime University-Recommended by the China Institute of Navigation-Won a Certificate of Merit of the Third National Innovation Award

The 3rd National Innovation Award Commendation Conference was held in Beijing on May 30, the 7th National Day of Science and Technology Workers. Professor Li Ying of Dalian Maritime University, recommended by the China Institute of Navigation (CIN), was awarded a certificate of merit of National Innovation Award.

Approved by the Central Committee of Communist Party of China and jointly established by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, the China Association for Science and Technology, the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council in 2017, the National Innovation Award is presented every three years to teams and individuals who have made outstanding contributions in basic research and frontier exploration, major equipment and engineering breakthroughs, translation of research achievements, innovation and entrepreneurship, and social services. Hu Ya’an (elected as a member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering in November 2021), the deputy director of the Hydraulic Engineering Department of Nanjing Hydraulic Research Institute, and Yan Xinping, the chief professor and doctoral supervisor of Wuhan University of Technology and member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering won a certificate of merit of the first and second National Innovation Award respectively. Hu Ya’an and Yan Xinping were both recommended by the Institute.

The 3rd National Innovation Award comes in 7 medals, 26 decorations and 251 certificates of merit. Professor Li Ying was awarded a certificate of merit.

Li Ying, a professor of the School of Navigation of Dalian Maritime University, doctoral supervisor, national high-level talent, a delegate to the 14th Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, the head of the national key field innovation team and the national university Huang Danian-style teacher team, and the member of the Expert Committee of the Ministry of Transport. She has long been devoted to the research of major scientific and technological problems and has made a series of achievements in the fields of maritime traffic safety, intelligent navigation perception, and emergency response for marine oil spill. She has won the Second Prize of the National Award for Technological Invention, the Special Prize of Technological Invention and the First Prize of Science and Technology of China Institute of Navigation as the first contribution person. In addition, she has also won more than 20 provincial and ministerial awards, such as the First Prize of Science and Technology Progress of Liaoning Province, the Gold Prize of International Invention Exhibition, and the Special Contribution Award of the China Institute of Navigation.
