Notice on Applying for the Navigation Science and Technology Popularization Award of China Institute of Navigation 2021
All member units, branches, local institutes of navigation at provincial and municipal levels and units concerned:
In accordance with the relevant requirements of the national science and technology award and relevant provisions of the newly revised Measures for Science and Technology Rewards of China Institute of Navigation (hereinafter referred to as the Measures), the application for the Navigation Science and Technology Popularization Award (hereinafter referred to as the Award) 2021 will start as of today. The recommendation (declaration) will be handled in accordance with the relevant requirements of Guidelines for the Recommendation (Declaration) and Evaluation of Navigation Science Popularization Award (hereinafter referred to as the Guidelines) (see Attachment 1). (The above documents can be downloaded and consulted from the website of China Institute of Navigation (CIN): www.cinnet.cn).
- Awards setting
The Award is selected every two years, and the award categories shall not exceed 15 each time. No more than 10 people and no more than 3 units are awarded for a single project.
- Recommendation (Declaration) scope
The recommendation (declaration) scope of the Award is currently limited to officially published popular science books, electronic publications, and audio-visual products as well as publicly published original popular science new media works.
- Basic requirements for recommendation (declaration)
(1)Requirements for recommendation (declaration) units
The unit members of the CIN and the units of nautical science popularization education base can directly declare. The branches of the institute and the local institutes of navigation at provincial and municipal levels may organize the declaration and recommendation of the Award in their respective specialized fields and regions.
(2)Basic requirements for recommending(declaring)projects
The recommended (declared)projects must conform to the relevant requirements stipulated in the Measures and the Guidelines. Among them, popular science books and audio-visual works shall be publicly published for more than one year, that is, before September 30, 2020. Attached materials such as the number of released works and the number of reprints of the works, the certificates of being publicly cited or applied, and the quality certificates of popular science works should be submitted. New media works such as micro-videos, animations, H5, diagrams, etc., which are visually presented and interactively communicated, must be original works and published on official accounts, micro blogs, Zhihu, Tik Tok and other platforms, and have reached a certain degree of communication (the total number of clicks or playbacks is more than 100,000).
4. Recommendation (Declaration) deadline
The materials shall be submitted before September 30, 2021 (subject to the date of posting), and overdue submissions will be processed in the next year.
5. Application Materials
(1) The application materials for the Award shall be available in both paper and electronic forms. The paper recommendation (declaration) (see attachment 2) and the necessary certificates, support and explanatory materials should be submitted in triplicate (including 1 original) and sent to Room 408, Academic Exchange Department, Secretariat of CIN by express (Note: the relevant supporting documents should be bound together with the recommendation (declaration).
(2) The name of the electronic material should be consistent with that of the paper version. The electronic material should be respectively copied into a USB drive and mailed together with the paper version. The application materials will not be returned after evaluation.
(3) If the popular science works are paper books, then three sets of book samples (the latest version) should be provided. If the books have been translated into other languages, one set of book samples in that language should be provided. Electronic publications should be separately copied into a USB drive and provide links to the works. One complete set of publicly released audio-visual tapes, records or turntables should be provided for Audio-visual products.
6. Notes for declaration
(1) The main participants and units should be ranked according to their contributions and signatures or seals in the declaration form.
(2) If there is a dispute over the participants, units or the intellectual property rights, it should not be recommended (declared) until the dispute is resolved.
(3) The contact persons should be the designated one who is related to the awarding work during this period. The persons should be familiar with the application projects and fill in valid fixed-line phone and mobile phone numbers.
All recommendation (declaration) units are requested to carefully review and check the recommended materials.
