On April 19 and 20, Li Shixin, a member of the High Level Expert Committee of China Institute of Navigation (CIN) and chief editor of Journals of CIN, Peng Yan, deputy secretary general of CIN and director of Journal Editorial Department, visited Shanghai to investigate and promote the construction of the first-class journals, Marine Technology and Navigation of China.
The research group held forums in COSCO Shipping Group and Shanghai Maritime Safety Administration (MSA) respectively to listen to opinions and suggestions on the editing, publication and distribution and promotion of the two journals. Huang Xiaowen, deputy general manager of COSCO Shipping Group and Xie Kaiyun, deputy director of Shanghai MSA, attended the forums respectively, and representatives of more than ten port and shipping enterprises including Shanghai Zhonggu Logistics Co., Ltd. attended the forums held in Shanghai MSA.
Huang Xiaowen said that COSCO Shipping Group, as the world’s largest shipping company, has been committed to the research and development of new types and new energy of ships. The group should give full play to its leading role in the field of navigation science and technology, actively make a voice in academic journals, and timely publish the latest research results. In addition, he said that the group, as the work unit of the vice chairman of CIN, has the responsibility to support the work of the two journals. In the next step, relying on the group’s advantages in navigation talents, the group would give great assistance in recommending experts, organizing academic articles and promoting the two journals.
Xie Kaiyun, deputy director of Shanghai MSA, said that he would continue to support the work of journals of CIN and hoped that the two journals would adhere to the principle of putting editorial quality first and strengthen their service to the grassroots and the front line.
On behalf of the Journal Editorial Department of the Institute, Li Shixin expressed his gratitude to all parties for their support for the two journals. He said that he would listen carefully to the opinions and suggestions put forward by everyone, and constantly enhance the academic leading power, work credibility, industry cohesion, audience attraction and international influence of the two journals, so as to better serve scientific and technological workers in the field of navigation and members of CIN.
