On the morning of October 27, the examination of 2020 theoretical training course for magnetic compass adjustment personnel, organized by China Institute of Navigation (CIN) and assisted by Shanghai Institute of Navigation, was held in the training center of CCCC Shanghai Navigation Bureau as scheduled.
The successful organization of the 2020 theoretical training course for magnetic compass adjustment personnel has been strongly supported by the Crew Department of China Maritime Safety Administration (MSA), Shanghai Maritime Safety Administration, training center of CCCC Shanghai Navigation Bureau and Shanghai Institute of Navigation. The examination organized by China MSA aims to assess the actual mastery of the theoretical knowledge of magnetic compass adjustment technology and lay a solid theoretical foundation for the practical magnetic compass adjustment service on board in the future.
Chen Yu, inspector and director of Crew Department of Shanghai MSA, also came to the examination site, which shows that Shanghai MSA attaches great importance to the examination of magnetic compass adjustment.
The theoretical training and examination of magnetic compass adjustment personnel organized by CIN is the first training and examination after the implementation of the new “Administrative Measures of the People’s Republic of China on Training, Examination and Certification of Magnetic Compass Adjustment Personnel”.
The theoretical training courses and examination for magnetic compass adjustment personnel overcame the adverse effects of the pandemic and was carried successfully on the basis of strictly implementing the requirements for pandemic prevention and control.
