Traffic Resumed in the navigable Waters of Humen Bridge Guangdong Provice

On May 7th , the journalist learned from the Guangdong Maritime Safety Administration that the department of Transportation of Guangdong Province had held two expert consultation meetings on the vibration of the suspension bridge of Humen Bridge. The expert  group believed that the vibration would not affect the safe operation of the suspension bridge structure. Then, Guangdong Maritime Safety Administration reported to the higher authorities for approval of the resumption of navigable waters of Humen Bridge, starting from 16:30 on May 7th.

According to information, Guangdong Maritime Safety Administration set up a leading group of the water transportation of Humen Bridge and enacted the traffic organization and implementation plan for the unsealing of Humen Bridge after making active communication with transportation, ports and shipping, fishery and other departments. , so as to renforce the on site water traffic organization and emergency sageguard. 10 ships of Guangzhou Maritime Safety Administration and Dongguan Maritime Safety Administration were arranged to strengthen on-site water traffic organization in the upstream and downstream of Humen Bridge, 2 tugboats were arranged to be on emergency duty in this area, and 4 emergency anchorage places were also reserved here to strengthen emergency support. On condition of ensuring navigation safety, the Maritime Safety Administration, according to the ship navigation density, made reasonable control of the distance between the navigating vessels, arranged the orderly entry and exit of vessels in batches to strictly prevent secondary accidents. The Administration gave priority to the passage of electric coal, electric oil, LNG and other transportation vessels carrying important materials for the people's livelihood to reduce the impact on port production and operation.

It was reported that the Guangdong Maritime Safety Administration had arranged 71 patrol boats and 210 maritime law enforcement personnel since the closure of ships at 19:00 on May 5th. , dispatched the  1,574 ships, and assisted 37 large ships for mooring and anchoring,  at the same time MSA issued 2,830 navigational warning messages. At present the traffic order in the channel has returned to normal, and no water traffic accidents  have occurred.
