On the occasion of the 10th World Seafarers' Day, the law and Practice of Seafarers' Rights Protection, jointly compiled by DMU alumni and many industry experts and scholars, is officially published, with The former President Wu Zhaolin as the advisor and chief reviewer and Professor Chen Peng of DMU as the first editor.
The book was jointly published by Dalian Maritime University, Jiangsu Maritime Vocational and Technical College, and Jiangsu Taiyou Law Firm, with Dalian Maritime University as the first compiling unit. The inscription and preface to the book were written by Xu Zuyuan, goodwill ambassador of IMO and former vice minister of the Ministry of Transport, and Liu Gongchen, the former safety director of the Ministry of Transport and former director of the Maritime Safety Administration of the Ministry of Transport.
According to Introduction and Preview, the book was divided into five chapters with three parts including legal provisions, elements and cases of seafarers’ rights protection both at home and abroad. The book with three parts, centering on seafarers, systematically provide legal knowledge, contents of rights and interests, ways of protecting rights and typical cases, and provide all-round support from form to content for the crew to safeguard their own legitimate rights and interests.
