On September 22, Yan Xinping (President of the China Institute of Navigation), Li Shixin (Executive Vice President), and Liu Shun (Secretary-General) led a delegation to the Ministry of Transport. They successively visited the Maritime Safety Administration (CHINA MSA), China Rescue & Salvage, and Water Transport Bureau to carry out work exchanges.
During the symposiums, President Yan Xinping introduced the CIN's key priorities for the next phase and the current progress of its major business operations. He expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Transport and its relevant divisions for their long-term support and assistance to the institute, and expressed the hope to continuously deepen business cooperation and exchange synergy in various relevant fields, so as to jointly facilitate the high-quality development of the water transport and maritime cause.
At the Maritime Safety Administration, Director Xu Wei stated that both sides are expected to deepen pragmatic cooperation in areas such as R&D and application of intelligent shipping technologies, construction of the maritime navigation support system, and standardized management of magnetic compass services. At China Rescue & Salvage, Director Wang Lei noted that the Rescue and Salvage Bureau will give full play to its functional role as a vice-president member unit of the CIN, and strengthen targeted collaboration on the compilation of popular science books for rescue and salvage, the formulation and revision of association standards, and on-water drills. At the Water Transport Bureau, Director Yang Huaxiong updated the delegation on new developments and requirements for the preparation of the China Maritime Forum series. He stated that the Water Transport Bureau will continue to support the CIN in successfully hosting the China Maritime Forum — a key industry event in the water transport sector — to build consensus across the industry.
