As of June 26, the number of inbound and outbound passenger trips via the Xiamen-Kinmen Mini-Three-Links exceeded 1 million this year, 44 days earlier than last year and a year-on-year increase of over 25%. This marks the first time passenger volume on the route has surpassed 1 million in the first half of a year since its opening. Currently, the route operates 24 round-trip sailings daily on a stable basis, with the port flexibly adding sailings based on real-time passenger flow to fully ensure smooth travel for passengers.
Since the beginning of this year, passenger flow on the Xiamen-Kinmen Mini-Three-Links has shown characteristics of “expanding structure, diverse groups, and active interaction.” In terms of passenger composition, the number of Taiwan compatriots entering and leaving exceeded 800,000, a year-on-year increase of over 35%, setting a new high for the same period in history. Tourism and family visits, cultural exchanges, and settlement and development have become the main purposes for Taiwan compatriots traveling to the mainland. Among them, the growth of “first-time visitors” from Taiwan is particularly notable; nearly 40,000 Taiwan compatriots have made their first mainland visit via this route this year, a year-on-year increase of over 70%. Meanwhile, policy dividends for residents of Fujian and Shanghai traveling to Kinmen continue to be released, and “Xiamen + Kinmen” joint tourism products have driven the cross-strait tourism market to heat up. Youth group travel and short family trips have become mainstream, with the daily inbound and outbound passenger volume peaking at over 7,800.
Relying on Xiamen’s unique regional advantages, the Xiamen-Kinmen Mini-Three-Links is not limited to short-distance travel between Xiamen and Kinmen but connects a three-dimensional network of sea, air, and rail. Passengers can transit through Gaoqi International Airport to reach 27 cities in 18 countries, or conveniently transfer to international cruise ships to Hong Kong and countries in Southeast Asia. The Xiamen-Kinmen Mini-Three-Links has become a preferred channel for commuting, tourism, and cross-border travel between the two places.
