On January 23, the launch ceremony of the 8,500-deadweight duplex stainless steel chemical tanker “Zhongran Green Energy 85” was held. Representatives from China Marine Bunker (PetroChina) Co. Ltd. (CHIMBUSCO), Hengxing Shipping Group, and guests from across the industry gathered to witness this milestone in the green transition of the shipping sector.
In his address, Qin Ling, Party Secretary and General Manager of CHIMBUSCO, noted that the successful launch of “Zhongran Green Energy 85” represented a landmark achievement in the deepening of green cooperation between the two parties. He emphasized that the vessel would inject new momentum into the promotion of clean marine fuels in the Chinese market. Looking ahead, CHIMBUSCO planned to further expand the supply of green marine fuels, strengthen collaborative innovation, and build a comprehensive, end-to-end green service ecosystem. Chen Leihong, Chairman of Hengxing Shipping Group, reviewed the course of cooperation between the two companies and stated that they will continue to uphold the principle of “complementary advantages and coordinated development,” working hand in hand to advance along the clean marine fuel pathway. On the same day, CHIMBUSCO and Hengxing Shipping Group formally signed a cooperation agreement.
According to reports, “Zhongran Green Energy 85” is constructed of duplex stainless steel and is qualified for interprovincial chemical cargo operations. Against the backdrop of CHIMBUSCO having already obtained green methanol bunkering licenses at the ports of Shanghai and Ningbo, the vessel’s launch marks a new chapter following CHIMBUSCO’s leading role in domestic biofuel oil deployment. Together with Hengxing Shipping Group, CHIMBUSCO is now advancing industry-wide collaboration in green methanol bunkering, jointly charting a path toward a “zero-carbon” future.
