On November 10, 2025, the 2025 National Magnetic Compass Adjuster Training Program, organized by China Institute of Navigation (CIN) and jointly hosted by the Navigation Branch of the Jiangsu Society of Comprehensive Transportation and Jiangsu Maritime Institute, was officially inaugurated at Jiangsu Shipping College . A total of 40 trainees from 10 magnetic compass service divisions nationwide attended the opening ceremony.

The ceremony was attended by Liu Shun, Secretary-General of China Institute of Navigation; Jiang Sheng, Head of the Magnetic Compass Technical Service Department; Li Jun, Vice President and Secretary-General of the Navigation Branch of Jiangsu Society of Comprehensive Transportation; Liu Fangwu, Vice President of Jiangsu Maritime Institute; as well as representatives from relevant organizations. The ceremony was presided over by Xu Xiangrong, Dean of School of Continuing Education of Jiangsu Shipping College.
On behalf of Jiangsu Shipping College, Vice President Liu Fangwu delivered a welcome address, expressing sincere gratitude to China Institute of Navigation for the trust and support, and extending a warm welcome to all trainees across the country.
Secretary-General Liu Shun expressed his appreciation to the organizations supporting and assisting the training program. He emphasized the critical role of magnetic compasses in maritime navigation and outlined three expectations for the organizers, trainees, and instructors: the organizing institutions should strictly comply with relevant regulations and optimize teaching arrangements; trainees should cherish the learning opportunity and strengthen both theoretical knowledge and practical skills; instructors should focus on case-based teaching and enhance the integration of learning and application.
Professor Ji Binshan of Jiangsu Shipping College provided a detailed introduction to the training curriculum and instructional organization. He noted that the teaching team would strictly control teaching quality, strengthen trainees’ understanding and application of magnetic compass adjustment technical standards, and effectively enhance their professional competence.

This training program and the subsequent examination will further promote the development of the magnetic compass adjuster workforce under China Institute of Navigation, improve professional standards in magnetic compass adjustment, and provide stronger technical support for the safety of maritime navigation.
