On 13 November 2025, Prof. Yan Xinping, 10th Chairman of China Institute of Navigation (CIN), visited the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), together with Liu Shun, Executive Vice-chairman Li Shixin and Secretary-General.
The delegation met successively with China Science & Technology Museum, Department of Science & Technology Innovation, Department of Organization & Human Resources, and the Party Committee Office (Society-Party Building Office) of CAST. Chairman Yan expressed heartfelt gratitude to CAST for its long-term care and support for CIN and presented the institute’s recent transition of leadership, progress of key tasks, and the roadmap and implementation pathway for building a world-class institute.
The comrades from relevant departments of China Association for Science and Technology extended congratulations to China Institute of Navigation on the successful completion of its leadership transition. They praised the achievements made by the institute in strengthening Party-building guidance, promoting maritime technological innovation, invigorating academic exchanges, and enhancing journal development, and expressed their continued support for the institute's various endeavors.
Qian Yan, Secretary of the Party Committee of China Science and Technology Museum, emphasized that the learned society should continuously strengthen the standardized management of its branches, strictly implement the responsibility system for ideological work in academic journals, and solidify the ideological front. She stated that, she，as liaison person, would make every effort to provide service and support for the development of the association.
Yang Shuxuan, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology Innovation, provided clear policy interpretations and implementation suggestions regarding the core needs proposed by association, including deepening the strategy for building a world-class learned society, efficiently utilizing the resources of the "Scientific and Technological Innovation in China" platform to empower the society's development, and improving the talent cultivation and recommendation system.
Gong Fei, Deputy Director of the Organization and Personnel Department, expressed hopes that the association would further leverage the leading roles of its chairman, secretary-general, chief supervisor, and others, strengthen team building, rally intellectual strength, and translate organizational and professional advantages into tangible results that drive the high-quality development of the learned society through collaborative efforts.
Zheng Kai, Executive Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the organ, stressed that the Party Committee of the association should effectively fulfill its responsibilities to "steer the direction, oversee the overall situation, and ensure implementation", improve the "three majors and one large" decision-making mechanism, strengthen internal governance and supervision, promote the deep integration of Party building and professional work, so as to lead the sustainable development of the association with high-quality Party building.
This reporting and exchange effectively enhanced China Association for Science and Technology's comprehensive understanding of its development and pointed out the direction for the society to precisely align with national strategic needs and enhance its self-construction capabilities in the next step.
