On the afternoon of May 14, 2026, Liu Shun, Secretary-General of the China Institute of Navigation (CIN), led a delegation to visit Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) for investigation and research. The delegation toured the university's scientific and technological achievements exhibition and the State Key Laboratory of Ocean Engineering, followed by a discussion session. Attendees included Fu Shixiao, Dean of the School of Naval Architecture, Ocean and Civil Engineering (NAOCE); Wang Hongdong, Deputy Dean of the Research Institute; and Tian Xinliang, Deputy Dean of NAOCE. During the meeting, Secretary-General Liu Shun outlined the Institute’s work in areas such as organizational development, academic exchange, talent recommendation, evaluation of scientific and technological achievements, award applications, and standard formulation. Relevant leaders from SJTU introduced the university and the schoo’s research platforms and technological innovations in the fields of shipping, oceanography, and transportation. Both sides engaged in in-depth discussions regarding specialized committees and expert think tanks.

On the morning of May 15, Secretary-General Liu Shun and his delegation visited the Shanghai Branch of the China Ship Scientific Research Center (CSSRC, 702 Institute). They toured the achievements exhibition hall to gain insights into the research progress, technical results, and practical applications of the 702 Institute in the fields of naval architecture and ocean engineering. Chen Jingpu, Party Secretary of the Shanghai Branch of the 702 Institute, participated in the discussion. Both parties introduced their respective operational backgrounds and key areas of work, discussed topics such as the evaluation and transformation of scientific and technological achievements, industry-university-research collaboration, and the Institute's role in supporting technological innovation. A preliminary consensus was reached on further strengthening communication and promoting the transformation and application of outstanding scientific and technological achievements.

They toured the SDC history museum to understand its development history and major engineering projects. Gu Yong, Deputy General Manager of SDC, participated in the discussion. The two sides introduced their respective work, exchanged views on technological innovation needs in areas such as channel construction, dredging engineering, and ocean engineering, and explored how to better leverage the Institute's platform to strengthen industry resource matching and promote the exchange and application of maritime scientific and technological achievements.
