Fei Weijun

Fei Weijun is currently President of China Waterborne Transport Research Institute, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, member of the Transportation Expert Group, Vice Chairman and Researcher of the Expert Committee of the Maritime Safety Administration. At the same time, he serves as Secretary-General of Asia-Pacific Port Service Organization (APSN), Vice Chairman of Chart Standards by International Electronic Hydrographic Group (IEHG), and Convener of International Container Identification and Code working Group (ISO/TC104/TC4/WG1). He Graduated from Dalian University of Technology in 1985.

He has presided over a number of major national, provincial and ministerial-level scientific research projects, and completed the national science and technology support plan program “Research on key Technologies of Ocean ship Ballast Water Purification and Water Oil Spill Emergency”, “Application and Demonstration of key Technologies of Modern Logistics Service Industry”, High-tech Industry Plan Project of National Development and Reform Commission, “Application and Demonstration of key Technologies of Marine Oil spill Emergency”, The research of the Western Project of the Ministry of Transport, “key Technology Research on Improving the Comprehensive Passing Capacity of the Three Gorges Ship Lock”, “Development and Application of Container Electronic Label Technology”, and the major project of the Ministry of Transport “key Technology and Demonstration of Capacity Enhancement of the Golden Waterway of the Yangtze River”.

He presided over or participated in a number of industry development policy research and consultation work, including the promotion of inland shipping development, ship type standardization, water transport energy saving and emission reduction, green port policy research and related document drafting. And he presided over the compilation of national or industry technical standards and norms, such as container electronic labels, container terminal technology, green port grade evaluation, inland river electronic waterway map production standards, port energy efficiency management technical standards, etc.

He has presided over a number of international cooperation projects, including the national scientific and technological cooperation project "Research on the Safety Monitoring Platform for Inland River Dangerous Goods Transport", the APEC project " Development of Inland Waterway Shipping for Multimodal Transport" and "Development of Smart Containers for Multimodal Transport", and led the research and implementation of the Asia-Pacific Green Port Award Scheme (GPAS). As an expert, he has participated in a number of bilateral cooperation research projects and the ADB Inland Shipping Sustainable Development Project.

He won the second prize of National Scientific and Technological Progress (Research and practice of key technological innovation of navigation hub and lock of national high-grade waterway network), first prize of National Standard Contribution Award (International Container Electronic Label Standard ISO18186), two special prizes of Science and Technology Award of China Institute of Navigation (Research on key technology of marine oil spill prediction and early warning, Research and practice of key technological innovation of navigation hub and lock of national high-grade waterway network) and the first, second and third prizes of Science and Technology Awards of China Institute of Navigation, China Highway and Transportation Society and China Waterway Engineering Construction Association.
