Notice on Soliciting Annual Papers for the 2025 China Navigation Academic Conference

All Professional Committees, Local Navigation Societies, Universities, and National Navigation Science and Technology Research Workers:
To promote academic exchanges and technological progress in the navigation field so as to further leverage the academic leading role of scientific and technological journals in the navigation field, China Institute of Navigation plans to hold the China Navigation Academic Conference in October 2025, featuring academic paper exchanges and doctoral student research achievement exchanges and evaluations. We sincerely invite you to actively submit papers and attend the academic conference and discuss current hot topics in the shipping industry with colleagues in the field and present advanced navigation research results. The paper solicitation work is now initiated. The relevant matters are notified as follows:
I. Paper Solicitation Directions
(1) Academic Paper Exchange
Specialized directions in the navigation and relevant fields, including but not limited to:
Intelligent shipping, navigation safety, ship electromechanical, shipping management, navigation support, port engineering, waterway engineering, information and communication engineering, logistics engineering, navigation remote sensing, environmental protection and ecology, salvage and diving, navigation culture, maritime law.
(2) Doctoral Student Paper Exchange
Doctoral students from universities engage in navigation-related research and their research teams present their research results.
II. Paper Solicitation Requirements
(1) Paper Types
(1) Language: Chinese
(2) All papers must be genuine and original, not involving state secrets. Academic paper exchange: The submitted papers are not have been published before. Doctoral student paper exchange: Both published and unpublished papers are acceptable.
(3) All papers should be submitted with the "Paper Copyright Transfer Agreement" signed.
(4) Paper Length: 4,000 to 7,000 words, using a unified format (refer to the paper format template).
(5) In principle, authors participating in the paper solicitation activity are willing to participate in on-site exchanges; at least one author of each selected paper must attend the conference to present, and each presenter is limited to presenting one paper.
II. Submission Methods
1. Academic Paper Exchange
(1) For this call for papers, the full text of the paper (in accordance with the paper format template), the “Academic Paper Exchange Registration Information Form” (see Attachment 2), and the “Paper Copyright Transfer Agreement” (Attachment 3) should be sent to the email address of the local navigation institution or the professional committee of China Institution of Navigation (hereinafter referred to as the “recommending institution”, contact details are provided in Attachment 1). Each paper can only be submitted to one recommending institution. Since the release of this notice, each recommending institution may also mobilize relevant units and individuals to actively participate in the submission around the theme, organize experts to conduct preliminary reviews of the collected papers, and submit the call for papers situation, review process, participating experts, review opinions, and conclusions in written form to the society.
(2) For papers that have been accepted but not yet published in China Navigation and Navigation Technology, the first author should send the full text of the essay in Chinese (in accordance with the paper format template) and the “Academic Paper Exchange Registration Information Form” (see Attachment 2) to dongsw@cinnet.cn. The subject should be “Submission for the 2025 Academic Paper Exchange - Manuscript Number.”
2. Ph.D. Student Paper Exchange
For papers with a Ph.D. candidate as the first author, the first author should send the full text of the essay in Chinese (in accordance with the paper format template) and the “Ph.D. Student Paper Exchange Registration Information Form” (see Attachment 4) to dongsw@cinnet.cn. The subject should be “Submission for the 2025 Ph.D. Student Paper Exchange - University Name.”
III. Selection
1. Re-review
CIN will organize a re-review based on the paper soliciting situation. Papers that pass the re-review will be invited to participate in the 2025 China Navigation Academic Annual Conference Paper Exchange Activity (the time and place will be notified separately).
2. Exchange and Publication
Invited representatives will present and exchange ideas during the 2025 China Navigation Academic Annual Conference. Then the conference’s review committee will evaluate the paper and generate the results, and then grand the certificates. Unpublished papers will be selected for priority publication in China Navigation, Navigation Technology, as well as the China Navigation supplement and the 2025 China Navigation Academic Annual Conference Paper Collection.
(1) Academic Paper Exchange: The annual paper, recommended paper, and plenary paper of the 2025 China Navigation Academic Annual Conference will be selected.
(2) Ph.D. Student Paper Exchange: Outstanding Ph.D. student presenters of the 2025 China Navigation Academic Annual Conference will be selected.
IV. Other Requirements
1. Each recommending institution should fully carry out the publicity and mobilize the call for papers within its region and professional field, focus on connecting with key units, and cultivate a community of authors. The number and quality of recommended papers, as well as the participation in the conference, will be considered as bonus points in the annual assessment and recommendation for excellence of the branch institutions.
2. All units should maintain the strict control and standardized operations in the process of soliciting and recommending papers, and adhere to the principles of fairness, impartiality, and transparency. All units should keep strict with the academic misconduct, and observe the recusal system for the reviewing experts.
V. Key Dates
1. Academic Paper Exchange
Authors' submission of papers starts from the date of this notice.
Authors' submission deadline for papers (recommending institutions may set their own deadlines for the call for papers): June 30, 2025.
Deadline for recommending institutions to submit review materials: July 31, 2025.
Announcement of shortlisted notifications and registration for participation: From August to September 2025.
Publication of outstanding results: Before December 2025.
2. Doctoral Students' Thesis Exchange
Deadline for Paper Submission by Authors: June 30, 2025
