Announcement of Application and Recommendation of China Institute of Navigation for Science Popularization Ambassadors in 2025

All Relevant Units,
To promote the spirit of scientists, enhance the brand image of "Navigation Science Popularization," and encourage navigation technology workers to engage in the cause of science popularization, and give full play to the exemplary and leading role of well-known experts and scholars in the field of navigation, we'll select Navigation Popular Science Ambassadors. Guided by the Measures for Navigation Science Popularization Ambassadors of China Institute of Navigation (Trial) (see Attachment 1, hereinafter referred to as the Measures). The relevant matters are hereby notified as follows:
I. Recommended scope and quota
(1) Scope of Recommendations:
1. All member units, branches, and local navigation institutes of the China Institute of Navigation are eligible to recommend candidates for Navigation Popular Science Ambassadors.
2. Individual members of the China Institute of Navigation should be recommended by their respective employers. Retired persons and freelancers may be recommended through the local navigation institutes in their provinces or cities, or they may contact the Secretariat of this organization. After review and confirmation of eligibility, the Secretariat may recommend them collectively.
(2) Recommended quota: Each unit can recommend up to 2 candidates.
II. Recommended candidate conditions
(1) Politically steadfast, possessing both integrity and talent, with a proper academic style and no record of illegal or disciplinary violations.
(2) Experts and scholars in the field of navigation, as well as science and technology popularizers, who are willing to represent the cause of navigation popular science with their personal image and actively participate in various public welfare popular science activities.
(3) Individuals with a certain degree of social influence, a positive public image, and strong exemplary and leading roles.
III. Identification and evaluation procedures
(1) Submit the Application/Recommendation Form for Navigation Popular Science Ambassador of the China Institute of Navigation (see Attachment 2) as required by the notice.
(2) The Navigation Popular Science Committee will organize expert selection and evaluation to determine the suggested list of "Navigation Popular Science Ambassadors."
(3) After being reviewed and approved by the Executive Director's Office and following the completion of the public announcement period, the Institute will officially announce the list of ambassadors and issue appointment letters.
(4) In accordance with the provisions of the Measures, the term of office for each Navigation Popular Science Ambassador is five years.
IV. Relevant requirements
(1) Please carefully assess and comprehensively review the proposed candidates in light of the selection criteria. Recommend well-known experts and science and technology popularizers who are truly capable of making a difference, have representativeness, and are passionate about the cause of navigation popular science.
(2) According to the work schedule, it is planned to confer certificates to the approved popular science ambassadors during the "2025 National Navigation Popular Science Season Launch Ceremony" on this year's National Navigation Day.
(3) Please send the Application/Recommendation Form for Popular Science Ambassador (both WORD and PDF versions with official seals) to the designated email address by May 9th.
