Notice on Designating the Second Batch of National Maritime Science Popularization Education Bases in 2024

To all relevant units:

According to the work priorities and annual key science popularization work plan of the China Institute of Navigation(CIN)in 2024, our institute organized and held the 2024 Expert Review Meeting for National Maritime Science Popularization Education Base in Beijing on November 5, 2024. After expert deliberation and voting, 12 units, including the Zhejiang Ship Lock Science Museum, passed the expert review (the list is attached). The review results were deliberated and approved by the 68th President's Office Meeting of the institute and are publicly displayed as required, with no objections received.

Now, the Zhejiang Ship Lock Science Museum and the other 11 units have  been designated as “National Maritime Science Popularization Education Bases” and certificates and plaques have been awarded. The titles will remain valid for 5 years(2024-2028).

We hope that the 12 National Maritime Science Popularization Education Bases will, in accordance with the provisions of the“Management Measures for Maritime Science Popularization Education Bases of the CIN”, fully leverage your service advantages, resource advantages, and unique roles, and actively engage in effective maritime science popularization education activities for the benefit of society and the general public. Your efforts will contribute to promoting the spirit of navigation, enhancing maritime science's influence, and improving the scientific literacy of our citizens.
