Notice on Nominating Candidates for Fellows of the China Institute of Navigation for 2024

All unit members, branches, local navigation societies, and relevant personnel:
In accordance with the “Provisional Measures for the Administration of Fellows of CIN” (Document of CIN [2023] No.4, hereinafter referred to as the “Measures”), we are now initiating the nomination process for candidates of Fellows of CIN for 2024. The specific notice is as follows:
- Nomination Targets
Fellows of CIN are the highest-level individual members of our organization and hold a lifelong honorary title. Any individual who meets the conditions for Fellowship candidacy can be nominated.
- Conditions for Fellowship Candidates
1. Possess senior membership in our organization with a minimum of five consecutive years of membership, and actively participate in the organization’s activities.
- Hold a senior professional title. For members who have held important positions for a long time in our organization and related international organizations, as well as those who hold significant technical or management positions in relevant institutions both in China and abroad, this requirement may be appropriately relaxed.
- Have profound academic achievements, either through major inventions or creations in the field of navigation and related disciplines, or through significant contributions to research, teaching, management, production, or through outstanding contributions to the development of the organization and its external exchanges and cooperation.
III. Nomination Methods
The nomination of Fellowship candidates adheres to the principles of voluntary participation, rigorous nomination check, and strict review. Nominations can be divided into individual and institutional channels.
Candidates can choose to submit their applications through either individual or institutional nomination by completing the “Nomination Form for Fellowship Candidates of CIN” (see Attachment 1). For individual nominations: Each candidate must be jointly nominated by two valid nominators, who must be either Executive Directors or Fellows of the organization, and each valid nominator can nominate only one candidate per occasion. For institutional nominations: Valid nominating institutions include professional committees, unit members, or provincial navigation societies of the organization, and each valid nominating institution can nominate one candidate per year.
IV. Submission of Materials
- Paper Materials: Original copy of the “Nomination Form for Fellowship Candidates of CIN” in duplicate. Relevant supporting documents in single copy.
- Electronic Materials: Word and PDF versions (signed and stamped, scanned copies) of the “Nomination Form for Fellowship Candidates of CIN” along with relevant supporting documents. “List of Fellowship Candidates of CIN”. (Attachment 2).
- Deadline for Submission: September 30, 2024.
- Other Requirements and Notes: The “Nomination Form for Fellowship Candidates of CIN” and supporting documents should be bound in separate volumes. All submitted materials will not be returned.
