Notice on the 2024 China Institute of Navigation's Sci-Technical and Industrial Issues
Document of CIN〔2024〕No.70
In response to the call of the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), the China Institute of Navigation (CIN) recommends and issues annually the major scientific problems, engineering and industrial technology problems in the maritime sector. The work aims to select the science and technology and industrial problems in the maritime sector that play a leading role in the future development of science and technology to follow the frontiers of science and technology in the world, support the main battlefields of the economy, meet the major demand of the country, and ensure the life and health of people.
The recommendation and release of “Science and Technology and Industry Issues”has received positive response from member units, branches, local navigation institutes and the majority of scientific and technological workers. In 2024, the CIN has collected 30 recommendations related to shipping industry’s response to climate change, waterway and port engineering, navigation technology and transport safety, intelligent shipping, environmental protection and energy saving from 10 member units. After serious discussion and deliberation by the expert committee led by the chairman and composed of many academicians and senior experts, the title description, focus scope and research points of some of the issues were revised and integrated, and 10 science and technology and industrial issues in the field of navigation in 2024 were selected, including one frontier scientific issue, five engineering and technical difficulties, and four industrial and technical problems. They are now formally released:
