Notice On The Application And Recommendation Of Navigational Science Popularization Ambassadors

In order to further promote the spirit of scientists and the brand image of Nautical Science Popularization, mobilize the majority of scientific and technological workers of navigation to be more actively involved in science popularization, and give full play to the exemplary and leading role of well-known experts and scholars in the field of navigation, according to the Administrative Measures for Science Popularization Ambassadors of by China Institute of Navigation (Trial) (see Annex 1, hereinafter referred to as the Measures), It is decided to carry out the work of recommending and selecting navigational science popularization ambassadors, and relevant matters are hereby notified as follows.
I. Recommended scope and quota
1. Recommended scope:
(1) All the unit members, branches and local nautical institutes of the CIN can recommend candidates for Nautical Science Popularization Ambassador.
(2) All individual members of the CIN can be recommended by their own units. Retirees and freelancers can recommend through the local navigation institute of their province or city, or contact the secretariat of the organization. Those who meet the requirements after examination can be recommended by the secretariat.
2. Recommended quota: Each unit can recommend a maximum of 2 candidates.
Ⅱ. Conditions for recommending candidates
(1) Candidates should be politically firm, have both moral integrity and ability, have a decent academic style, and have no violations of law or discipline.
(2) Candidates, who are nautical experts and scholars and science and technology workers, are willing to represent the cause of Marine science popularization with their personal images and actively participate in various science popularization events of public interest.
(3) Candidates should have certain social influences, good public images, and a strong demonstration and leading effect.
Ⅲ. Accreditation and evaluation procedures
(1) According to the requirements of the notice, submit the Nautical Science Popularizers of CIN (Application) Recommendation Form (see Annex 2).
(2) After the selection and evaluation by experts, the Nautical Science Working Committee of the China Institute of Navigation will propose the list of Nautical Science Popularization Ambassadors.
(3) After consideration and approval by the President's Office meeting, the list will be publicized on the website of CIN for 5 working days. Without objection, the Institute will officially publish the list and issue the letter of appointment.
(4) According to the Measures, the term of each appointment of Nautical Science Popularization Ambassadors shall be five years.
IV. Relevant requirements
(1) All relevant units are requested to carefully inspect and comprehensively examine the proposed referees against the recommended candidate conditions. Well-known experts and science and science workers who are really able to play a role and are representative and keen on the cause of Marine science popularization will be recommended.
(2) Please send the relevant electronic recommended materials (the Word and PDF sealed version) (see Annex 2) to the appointed e-mail before April 30, 2023.
