CCCC Shanghai Dredging Co., Ltd. Launched Distinguished Engineer Lecture Series

“Industry mentors bring not only knowledge, but also the key to career opportunities.” On March 27, CCCC Shanghai Dredging Co., Ltd., through its Human Resources Department, Technical Center, Youth League Committee, and South China Construction Company, launched an innovative industry-academia integration initiative, with  School of Civil Engineering of Sun Yat-sen University, Centered on  “Technological Innovation in River-Lake Ecological Governance and Youth Development,” the Distinguished Engineer Lecture Series created a multidimensional growth pathway bridging “theory-practice-employment” for students.

As an upgraded version of spring recruitment of CCCC Group’s “10,000 Engineers Enter Classroom” campaign, this program breaks conventional models by engaging industry mentors in deep classroom participation. Dr. Zhao Donghua - recipient of the National May 1st Labor Medal, Shanghai Model Worker, CCCC Group's Top Ten Outstanding Youth, professor-level senior engineer at CCCC Shanghai Dredging, and enterprise mentor of PhD candidates for East China University of Science and Technology -demonstrated transformative practices Focusing on the "ecology-first, technology-empowered" water management paradigm, he translated national projects like the Daluxin Waterway Regulation and Erhai Lakeside Restoration into teaching cases. Through a dual-track approach of "technical decoding + career navigation," he not only elucidated cutting-edge river-lake governance technologies but also shared professional growth insights as an industry mentor. The achievements of his Model Worker Innovation Studio have become a dynamic bridge connecting classroom theories with engineering practices.

The event featured a specially designed “Spring Recruitment Express” session, integrating recruitment presentations into technical lectures. Drawing from his experience in leading major engineering projects, Zhao Donghua provided the on-site explanations of the corporate training system, giving students a clear understanding of industry talent standards. Also invited included the alumni from Sun Yat-sen University who have been currently employed at CCCC Shanghai Dredging. They shared firsthand experiences as industry veterans, detailing their participation in full-cycle implementation of national strategic projects. They also demonstrated how technological innovation resolves engineering challenges, encouraging younger students to “anchor professional value in national needs.”

This pioneering recruitment model of “technology empowerment + career navigation” not only dissolves physical boundaries between academia and industry but achieves three-dimensional alignment:Curricular-Industrial Synergy – Seamless integration of teaching content with industrial demands; career-Technology Synchronization – Harmonized development of professional trajectories and technical; national-Strategic Convergence – Close alignment of youth development paths with national strategic priorities
