On September 28, the preliminary evaluation meeting of "Welcome the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China - Star Navigation Lock Selection and Publicity Activity in Communication and Transportation Industry" was held in the form of online video conference. After the evaluation and voting of six expert judges 16 navigation locks were shortlisted for the first round.
After preliminary recommendation and screening, 31 navigation locks from 10 provinces (regions) across the country participated in the selection. Based on the performance of the candidate locks in terms of management service innovation, technology empowerment, green environment protection and integration of traffic and tourism, combined with the water system and geographical area where the locks are located, the expert judges finally voted to evaluate 16 locks to pass the preliminary evaluation and enter the next round of evaluation.
The star navigation locks shortlisted in the first round include Gaoliangjian Navigation Lock, Huaiyin Navigation Lock, Jianbi Navigation Lock, Shaobo Navigation Lock, Shiqiao Navigation Lock, Taierzhuang Navigation Lock, Wannianzha Navigation Lock, Gezhouba Navigation Lock, Three Gorges Navigation Lock, Three Gorges Ship Lift, Chaohu Navigation Lock, Changzhou Navigation Lock, Liangshiwan Navigation Lock, Sanbao Navigation Lock, Zhuzhou Navigation Lock and Shuanggang Navigation Lock.
The shortlisted navigation locks' deeds will be publicized and displayed on China Transportation News as well as official WeChat, website, microblog and other media platforms. The organizer will organize online voting, invite the shortlisted navigation locks to forward and collect likes for the promotion content, and then organize the final evaluation. The scores of voting, forwarding and collecting likes will be counted into the total score of final evaluation, and the awards such as "Top Ten star navigation locks in Communication and Transportation Industry ", "green lock", "smart lock" and "cultural lock" will be selected finally.
It is reported that the activity is organized by China Transportation News office and China Communications News Association, co-organized by the Beijing-Hangzhou Canal’s North Jiangsu Navigation Administration Department of Department of Transport in Jiangsu Province, and specially supported by Navigation Authority of Yangtze Gorges of Ministry of Transport and navigation Locks Professional Committee of China Institute of Navigation. The event aims to fully demonstrate the bright achievements of the navigation locks industry in serving the crew, serving the water transport economy and even the regional economic development, to tell the good story of the traffic navigation locks (ship lift), to let the public better understand the navigation locks, feel the modern level and historical and cultural charm of the navigation locks.
