The 2022 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Intelligent Transportation Industry Expo Opened Converging Over 400 Enterprises

The 2022 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (Guangzhou) Intelligent Transportation Industry Expo, which undertaken by the Guangdong Beizhan International Exhibition Co., Ltd, has been held on August 24 in Guangzhou. This Expo is guided by the Department of Transportation of Guangdong Province and The Fifth electronic research institute of MIIT(Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, also named China Electronic Product Reliability and Environmental Testing Research Institute, hereinafter referred to as “CEPREI”) and co-hosted by Guangdong Provincial Transportation Association(GDCTA), Guangdong Port And Harbours Association(GDPA), Guangdong Static Traffic Association(GSTA). Huang Chengzao, deputy director general of Department of Transportation of Guangdong Province, Soile Kauranen, the ambassador of the Finnish Embassy in China, and Wang Yunhui, director of CEPREI attended and addressed the opening ceremony.

With the participation of over 400 enterprises including international exhibitions, 24 central enterprises and 124 state-owned enterprises, Mr. Huang highlighted in his address that we have developed intelligent transportation for many years, and already seen fruitful results in pilot programs, the building of standard systems and operational mode, and industrial popularization. Especially in recent years, under the coordination of Cutting-edge technologies such as 5G, the internet of things, big data and artificial intelligence, intelligent transportation is able to achieve a faster growth and the better implementation, as well as creating outstanding achievements in prompting industrial security, reducing costs, enhancing efficiency, assisting the epidemic prevention and control and reopening of economy.

“GDCTA will work in a down-to-earth manner, continuously make new progress, so as to making more new contributions to the transport infrastructure and society economy of Guangdong province and Greater Bay Area ”, Lu Changhe, President of Guangdong Transport Association said.  

Li Yibo, President of Guangdong Port And Harbours Association and Chairman of Guangzhou Port Group, has introduced: “As the center of various transportation hubs and operation of cargo, information and data, ports have been becoming the pivotal part for the intelligent transportation application.”  

Besides, as one of the largest and the most open world-class port clusters, Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area port cluster has stepped up efforts to the modern technology application involving 5G communication services, BeiDou Navigation Satellite, unmanned vehicle, intelligent tally and green harbour, in order to construct an automated port with its characteristics.

Wang Yunhui, deputy director of the CEPREI expressed in an interview, under this current situation, some areas’ urban disease has become worse, building smart cities is an irresistible trend.

Our institute will shoulder our responsibility for strengthening the bond of Guangzhou and Greater Bay Area, as well as benefiting the country. What‘s more, we will also worker harder to improve quality test, talent cultivation, standard research and ecological optimization to lay a solid foundation for the high-quality development of the area.

The grand event will also host more than 20 concurrent activities, covering all fields of transportation, from green ports to intelligent ports, from high-speed intelligent construction to intelligent urban rail transit, from Intelligent robot parking to modern digital transportation governance, from 5G website to internet safety, so as to giving impetus to the development of intelligent transportation industry.
