According to the news of the 2nd Transportation Development Seminar and the Conference on Transportation Serving Common Prosperity over Fujian-Zhejiang Surrounding Areas held recently, the transportation authorities of these two provinces will join hands to promote the integrated construction of transportation in the surrounding areas and strengthen the connection of inter-provincial transportation infrastructure. In doing so, they will support the accelerated development of the surrounding areas of both sides and achieve common prosperity served by transportation.
The surrounding areas between these two sides are the intersections of 4 cities and 15 counties in Zhejiang and Fujian provinces, and they serve as the development potential areas with rich ecological, tourism and cultural resources as well. For a long time, due to the different demands of various counties and cities in terms of project planning, technical standards, construction timing, etc., many transportation projects cannot be implemented. Coupled with the geographical constraints, few major traffic passages and many “broken roads” have become the shortcomings that restrict the interconnection and integrated development of the surrounding areas.
This conference has set up a platform for accelerating the construction of major transportation projects in the Fujian-Zhejiang surrounding areas. It will further advance the co-drawing of regional comprehensive transportation planning, co-construction of facilities, and sharing of mechanisms, speed up the transition from lucid waters and lush mountains to invaluable assets, and continuously enhance the radiation, influence and competitiveness of the surrounding areas of these two provinces. At the meeting, the transportation departments of both sides jointly signed a cooperation agreement on the planning and construction of the inter-provincial highway in the Fujian-Zhejiang surrounding areas and the construction of the “red common prosperity road”, and launched the party building alliance of “red prosperity benchmark road along the Zhejiang-Fujian surrounding areas”.
Next, these two provinces will carry out the research on the coordinated development of comprehensive transportation in the surrounding areas of Fujian and Zhejiang, and plan a number of key projects with great significance, strong driving force and prominent features. In addition, they will fully implement and refine the cooperation agreement, improve the three-level deliberation and coordination mechanism of “provincial and departmental communication, prefecture-city coordination, and county-district cooperation”, and strive to upgrade the industry behavior into to that of the party committee and government. In doing so, they could promote the cross-regional deep integration and the integrated high-quality development from the government level.
