From Jan 20th to 21st, China Waterborne Transport Research Institute (WTI) held the 4th session of the 11th Workers' Congress. In 2022, WTI will aim to build a high-end think tank in the industry and a world-class scientific research institution, adhere to the "four-pronged construction of the institute" (establish the institute through politics, set up the institute through scientific research, invigorate the institute through reform and strengthen the institute through talents), and promote the high-quality development of scientific research on waterborne transport, to accelerate the construction of a strong transportation country, to be the pioneer of China's modernization , and to welcome the opening of the 20th Party Congress with outstanding achievements.
At the meeting, Fei Weijun, president of WTI, said that in 2022, WTI will deepen and consolidate the achievements in the learning and education on the history of the Party, and comprehensively strengthen the party's leadership. WTI will continue to work on the six aspects: service to the Ministry, scientific and technological self-reliance and self-improvement, transformation of scientific research results, scientific research platform construction, talent team building, governance system and governance capacity. WTI will focus on improving the capacity to serve the national strategy and the ministry, improving the level of scientific and technological innovation, doing a good job in the transformation of scientific and technological achievements and market development, enhancing the comprehensive strength of the shipping service industry, and deepening academic and technical exchanges and cooperation at home and abroad. We will promote the construction of the institute's informatization and scientific research big data platform, strengthen the building of cadres and talents, strengthen the construction of comprehensive governance system and governance capacity, and make great efforts in risk prevention and control such as pandemic prevention and control and safety production.
It is understood that in 2021 WTI has focused on scientific research as our main work. All the staff of our institute have united as one, and forged ahead to overcome difficulties, making new progress and achievements in various work. Among them, the institute has won 28 provincial and ministerial science and technology awards, published 178 academic papers, published 10 monographs and edited books, authorized 31 patents, and obtained 45 computer software copyrights. As a technical support unit, the institute has taken the lead in proposing 2 international standard proposals, 18 national standards and 8 industrial standards, which have been published.
