In order to implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech delivered on July 1 and the important discourse on the independent innovation in science and technology in the new era, joint studies and research exchange activity was carried out by Tianjin Research Institute for Water Transport Engineering of Ministry of Transport and the National Supercomputing Center in Tianjin on August 26. The two sides made in-depth planning and reached consensus on the cooperation in supercomputing and the related fields of the pilot projects of great transportation country, laying a good foundation for earnestly implementing the pilot project of great transportation country.
Yang Canqun, Director of National Supercomputing Center of Tianjin, reviewed the development of the construction of the center, the development of a new generation of E supercomputer, and the major application achievements of the series of the Pillars of a Great Power in "big science and big projects", and offered suggestions for future in-depth cooperation between the two sides, hoping that both sides will actively explore the cooperation path of scientific and technological independent innovation.
Zhang Huaqin, President of Tianjin Research Institute for Water Transport Engineering of Ministry of Transport, said that this joint study is an important lesson of the Party history education of "learning Party history, understanding Party’s ideas, doing practical work and opening up new situation". In the future, the two sides can further strengthen scientific and technological cooperation in the pilot projects of a great transportation country, in the construction of "Belt & Road" and in the research of deep-sea islands and reefs, etc., and further innovate the cooperation mechanism and system so as to make new and greater contributions to accelerate the construction of a strong transportation country.
Vice President Zhang Jie, Zhao Hongbo, and Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission Wang Yingqi made speeches on water transportation construction, independent software research and development, and talent and team support respectively. Members in charge of the office, Party and Mass Relationship Office, coastal and estuarine center, marine hydrodynamic center, hydraulic construction center, information center, geotechnical center and other departments of the Institute, also participated in the joint study.
