Senior Think Tank Made Discussion about the High-quality Development of Transportation Industry
On March 30, the 2021 spring salon of the senior think tanks was successfully held, hosted by the Bureau of Retired Cadres of the Ministry of Transport, sponsored by China Merchant Expressway Network & Technology Holdings Co., LTD and co-organized by China Traffic Newspaper Office.
Experts from the Ministry of Transport and the former leaders of the Ministry of Railways, including Fu Zhihuan, Li Shenlin, Sun Yongfu, Hu Xijie, Cai Qinghua, Yang Limin, He Jianzhong, attended the meeting and had in-depth exchanges on the theme of "New Stage, New Concept, New Structure, Planning and Opening a New Bureau, and Promoting the High-quality Development of Transport".
Revolving around the in-depth implementation of the Outline for Building a Country with Strong Transportation, Outline for National Comprehensive Three-dimensional Transportation Network Blueprint, the meeting focused on the strategic research on transforming traditional road transportation with new infrastructure, challenges for high-quality development of expressway enterprises and the entire industry, and new approaches to high quality development of transportation industry. Besides, during the meeting, opinions on the development of transportation industry were drawn from the government, enterprises and the media. The letters of appointment were issued to eight new experts into the think tank.
Senior expert Zhang Xiaobing, director of the Bureau of Retired Cadres of the Ministry of Transport and executive deputy director and secretary-general, introduced the key blueprint of this year's senior expert think tank project. She said that this year the think tank plans to carry out three research projects: Safety and Durability of Highway Infrastructure and Rural Road Service Revitalization, Review and Prospect of China’s Highway and the Development of Toll Roads in the New Era, and Promote the Green-oriented and Smart-oriented Development of Inland Rivers. In addition, the think tank will also deliver speeches, organize the experts to send their wisdom to the grassroots, and create high-quality class of senior experts.
It is reported that the senior experts think tank has become a vital new type of professional think tank covering railway, highway, water transportation, civil aviation, and postal fields, which includes 22 former ministers and 34 senior experts. Since its establishment on July 31, 2020, it has held many seminars, consultation meetings, and scores of research activities on new transportation infrastructure, smart roads, toll road policy evaluation, etc., among which, new transportation infrastructure, highway policy evaluation and other four think tank suggestions have been highly valued by relevant authority.
