Recently, Shanghai Municipal Transport Commission, Suzhou Municipal Transport Bureau of Jiangsu Province, Jiaxing Municipal Transport Bureau of Zhejiang Province and other units jointly held a meeting on integrated transport connection in Wujiang District of Suzhou City, focusing on the promotion of the construction of multi-level railroad track network in Yangtze River Delta, the improvement of the level of regional road network interconnection, the interconnection transport channels between the rivers and seas and the promotion of the synergistic development of the ports along the river to strengthen the cooperation of integrated demonstration areas and improve the integration coordination mechanism and other important issues and key projects.
The three parties will jointly promote the construction of Shanghai-Suzhou-Huzhou and Nantong-Suzhou-Jiaxing-Ningbo railroads, the intercity railroad connection between Suzhou-Wuxi-Changzhou Urban Express Line and the Jiamin Line in Shanghai, as well as the planning and construction of Suzhou North Station, Suzhou South Station, Taicang Station and other comprehensive passenger hubs to actively build a comprehensive railroad hub group. In terms of highway, they will accelerate the construction of the Suzhou-Taizhou Expressway, 605 Provincial Highway, and other projects, and prepare to advance the second batch of inter-provincial "dead-end road" project and improve road network connectivity.
On improvement and upgrading project construction of the Sushen inner and outer harbor line, Changhushen line and other three-tier channels, the three parties has reached a consensus that they will give full play to the effectiveness of the high-grade channels in Shanghai, southern Jiangsu, northern Zhejiang, and Yangtze deep-water channel, and collaborate to build a direct inland river container channel between river and sea. Besides they will also coordinate the Shanghai-Suzhou-Jiaxing port resources as a whole, strengthen regional port cooperation and division of labor to help build a world-class port group with Shanghai port as a headmost one.
Focusing on the construction of the integration demonstration zone, the three parties will take the lead in promoting the interconnection of transportation infrastructure, and strengthen transportation cooperation in the green ecological integration development demonstration zone with the pilot launch zone as the core; they will jointly create cross-border ecological and cultural corridors to make effective exploration for the integrated development of transportation in the Yangtze River Delta.
