Amid the 24th National Work Safety Month, an on-site observational event for "Work Safety Month" was recently held at the Dongdaying Port river remediation project site in Qingpu District. Jointly organized by Shanghai Jiaojian Company of CCCC Shanghai Waterway Engineering Bureau and the Qingpu District Water Affairs Construction Project Quality and Safety Supervision Station, this event gathered responsible personnel from participating organizations of various water conservancy projects in Qingpu District alongside industry experts. It comprehensively showcased Shanghai’s innovative practices and commitment to responsibility in water engineering safety management.
Core Project Unveiled: Flood Control and Drainage Hub Demonstrates Technological Prowess
The event site focused on the Chenqiaobang West Pump Gate, a key facility for regional flood control and drainage. With a net width of 32 meters and a designed flow rate of 1.2 cubic meters per second, the pump gate consists of structures such as the gate chamber and the stilling basins on the inner and outer river sides respectively. It has a total length of 101.45 meters along the water flow direction. Once completed, it will become a core node in the comprehensive improvement of the surrounding water system of Qingpu New Town. The Dongdayinggang River Regulation Project (Songze Avenue - Yinggang Road) in the Central Business District of Qingpu District starts from Songze Avenue in the north and ends at the Chenqiaobang section of Qing'an Road in the south. The construction includes the construction and reconstruction of 3,102 meters of revetments, 5 sluices/pump gates, 10,900 square meters of flood control roads, 3 bridges and supporting green landscapes. It will fully serve for the construction of the water safety guarantee system in the Yangtze River Delta Integration Demonstration Zone.
Digital Management-Aided Problems-solving: 3D Modeling and AI System Build a Solid Safety Barrier
In the construction of the foundation pit and gate chamber structure, the project team promoted the standardization of safe production based on the concept of "technology ensuring safety". It used 3D modeling and conducted a panoramic simulation and deduction of the entire construction process to predict risk points in advance. The independently developed "Project Full-Process Supervision System" is built on the Notion platform, which integrates real-time monitoring functions for core data such as quality, safety and progress, and innovatively embeds modules such as typhoon warning, accurate weather forecasting and AI large-model risk analysis. It realizes the full-chain digital management and control from hidden danger investigation to emergency disposal.
Industry Demonstration and Leadership: Providing a "Shanghai Solution" for Safe Construction of Water Conservancy Projects
"After completion, the project will significantly enhance the regional flood control and drainage resilience, so as to realize scientific and intelligent dispatching of the water system," said the project leader. The construction team strictly controls safety and quality nodes with the craftsmanship spirit. It not only provides support for Qingpu New Town to build "resilient city" infrastructure, but also transforms the requirements of "preventing risks, eliminating hidden dangers and curbing accidents" in the National Work Safety Month into operable technical standards through digital management innovation. This observation activity vividly shows the in-depth integration of modern information technology and traditional water conservancy projects.
