On January 21, 2025, the Ningbo Workstation of China Institute of Navigation, the “Science and Innovation China” Ship New Energy “Production-Storage-Use” Integrated Science and Technology Service Group, was officially inaugurated at the Ningbo Nautical Society. The ceremony was grandly held in Ningbo Institute of Navigation. Mr. Liu Shun, Executive Secretary General of China Institute of Navigation, Mr. Lin Zuwei, Director of Science and Technology Innovation Service Department of Ningbo Association for Science and Technology, Mr. Shen Yajun, Chairman of Zhejiang Nautical Society, Mr. Lu Jinshu, Vice President of Zhejiang Ocean University, and Mr. He Haibin, President of Ningbo CPU Power Research Institute, attended the ceremony to unveil the license plate for the workstation. Leaders from Ningbo Nautical Society, Ningbo University and Ningbo Marine Transportation Company Limited witnessed this important moment together.
At the ceremony, Liu Shun, Executive Secretary General of China Institute of Navigation, pointed out that the establishment of the Ningbo workstation, as the first pilot project of scientific and technological services carried out by China Institute of Navigation in Ningbo, was of great significance, and he expected that it could be utilized as a pilot project for the integrated scientific and technological service mission of the new energy source of marine energy, “Production-Storage-Use”, under the name of “Science and Technology for China”. It is expected that the inauguration of the “Science and Innovation China” Ship New Energy “Production-Storage-Use” Integration Science and Technology Service Mission Ningbo Workstation will be a starting point to further strengthen the connection between the Society and local science and technology associations, maritime colleges and universities, and shipping enterprises, to promote the sharing of information and experience, and to push forward the synergistic development of scientific and technological innovation in the field of maritime industry.
Mr. Lin Zuwei, Minister of Science and Technology Innovation Service Department of Ningbo Association for Science and Technology, emphasized that with the establishment of Ningbo Workstation of Science and Technology Service Corps of “Science and Technology for China”, the Corps will actively promote the in-depth cooperation among enterprises and institutions in the field of new energy for shipbuilding in Ningbo, which will contribute to the overall development of nautical science and technology in Ningbo.
In his speech, Mr. Shen Yajun, Chairman of Zhejiang Institute of Navigation, expressed his sincere thanks to China Nautical Society and Zhejiang Province and Ningbo Municipal Association for Science and Technology for their support and trust. He said that he would make full use of the platform advantages of the workstation, actively integrate resources from all parties, unite colleges and universities, scientific research institutions and enterprises, and work together to overcome the key technical problems in the field of new energy for ships, accelerate the transformation and application of scientific research results, and provide strong support for the promotion of the green and sustainable development of the maritime industry.
After the inauguration ceremony, a seminar on the “Science and Technology Innovation of China” technology service team project was held. Executive Secretary Liu Shun presided over the meeting, and representatives from participating units such as Ningbo Institute of Navigation, Zhejiang Ocean University, Ningbo University, C.S.L Power Research Institute, and Ningbo Marine Company made speeches at the meeting, discussing and exchanging in-depth information on the implementation of the project, milestone achievements, follow-up work plans, and the normal operation mechanism of the Ningbo workstation. All parties have reached a broad consensus on strengthening the cooperation between industry, academia and research , optimizing resource allocation, and enhancing innovation capabilities, laying a solid foundation for the smooth development of the next step.
