The 2024 World Conference of IAIN and the 2024 Asia Navigation Conference was held in October Beijing

The 2024 World Conference of IAIN and the 2024 Asia Navigation Conference were held from October 29 to October 31, 2024 in the GUOCE International Convention And Exhibition Center, located in Shunyi District, Beijing.

The 2024 World Conference of FAI is organized by the International Association of Institutes of Navigation (IAIN) and hosted by China Institute of Navigation themed “Expanding Navigation Applications and Empowering Human Future”. The conference invited famous experts at home and abroad to give speeches on the development of satellite navigation technology and new prospects for their applications, and the integrated development of satellite navigation and mobile communications, the Internet, Internet of Things and artificial intelligence, etc. The conference also organized exchanges of domestic and foreign academic papers, which was of great significance to strengthening the technical exchanges and cooperation in the field of navigation at home and abroad, promoting the application of China's Beidou Navigation System and relevant products globally, and enhancing the international clout of Beidou system. Famous experts of China made theme reports together with reputated scholars abroad, with many scholars joining  the exchange of papers. The conference also granted the Harrison Award, the Nick Award, the Sadiq Award and the Honorary Member Award.

The IAF World Conference is held every three years, usually back-to-back with the General Assembly of Members of the organization and hosted by the country of the Senior Vice-President.

Founded in 1957 and registration in the Netherlands, IAIN is a non-profit international organization of civil science and technology with 28 member societies, including the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Canada, Russia, Japan and South Korea. It was recognized as a consultative body of the International Maritime Organization and the International Civil Aviation Organization in 1976 and 1985 respectively. China Institute of Navigation joined the organization in 1988. Zhang Baochen, executive vice president of institute, was elected Senior Vice President of ICAO in 2021. The ICAF General Assembly will review a number of agendas, including the working report, financial budget, winners of the Harrison Award and other awards, and the composition of the new executive committee (president, senior vice-president, vice-president, secretary general, terrapin, etc.).

Asia Navigation Conference is hosted by the navigation institutes of China, Japan and South Korea in turn, with 21 of it having been held successfully so far. Under the theme of “Green and Smart Navigation”, Asian experts and scholars carried out academic exchanges on navigation safety, communication and navigation, ship technology, maritime training, port construction and other hot spots in the industry, and selected excellent academic papers through on-site exchanges and evaluation.

The conference also set the display board, intensively presented the fruits in the field of science and technology and education of navigation.
