To strengthen the management of group standards in the field of navigation, adapt to the new requirements of group standardization work in the field of navigation, and promote the high-quality development of group standards of the China Institute of Navigation, the China Institute of Navigation held the first working meeting of the Standardization Committee 2024 in Beijing on April 28. The meeting was conducted in a combination of offline and online formats, with a total of 33 members attending, including 12 members attended on-site. The meeting was presided over by Liu Shun, Deputy Director of Standardization Committee of CN.
Wang Wei, a representative from the Standardization Administration Office of the Science and Technology Department of the Ministry of Transport, provided explanations on the key Work Tasks of Transportation Standardization in 2024 and introduced five aspects and eighteen key tasks mentioned in the document. Zhang Baochen, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the China Institute of Navigation (CIN) and Chairman of the Standardization Committee of CIN, summarized the group standardization work and made requirements for the group standards work in 2024. He emphasized that group standards should focus on the hot issues and challenges in the in the maritime field with a focus on new technologies in the maritime sector. He highlighted the importance of leveraging the characteristics of group being "fast, accurate, and fair," and serve technological innovation market demands.
Wang Wei, Chief Engineer of the Standards and Metrology Research Center of China Academy of Transportation Sciences, reported on the preliminary review of the first batch of group standards projects by the China Institute of Navigation in 2024. Twelve committee representatives re-reviewed the preliminary review of 54 group standard projects. All committee members reviewed the preliminary and re-evaluation results of the group standard projects. Some experts provided constructive opinions and suggestions on the recent group standardization work of the Institute.
Shi Shiwu, Executive Deputy Director of the Standardization Committee of CIN, introduced to allcommittee members he current issues of group standards and the future work ideas, and summarized the meeting. He mentionedthat new attempts are being made to improve the quality of the group standards. He called on all committee members to actively participate in the formulation and revision of standards to jointly promote the high-level development of standardization in the maritime field.
The content arrangement of this working meeting received widespread praise from the committee members. In the future, the standardization committee of CIN will continue to uphold the principles of science, fairness, and openness, focusing closely on applications and industrial development. The Institute will carry out forward-looking research on standards and continuously improve their standardization capabilities and levels. This will provide strong standard support for building a safe, convenient, efficient, green, economical, inclusive, and resilient sustainable transportation system, and contribute to the construction of a strong maritime and transportation nation with new and greater achievements.
