Wang Bingnan, the deputy head of the Thirty-eighth Central Steering Group, along with his group members, came to the China Institute of Navigation (CIN) to carry out research on the study and implementation of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era on June 6.
He Jianzhong, secretary of the Party Committee and chairman of CIN, presided over the conference. Zhang Baochen, deputy secretary of the Party Committee and executive vice chairman of CIN; Cao Di, member of the Party Committee and chairman of the supervisory board, and representatives of party members of the office attended the conference.
At the meeting, the development of education work, the basic situation, party building and governance work of the Institute were introduced. What's more, the steering group had a discussion and exchange with the representatives of the Institute’s party members, and gained an in-depth understanding of the Institute’s implementation of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions on such issues as building a strong maritime and shipping country, creating scientific and technological journals and awards with international influence, creating three brands of academic exchanges, think tank services and member services, building a first-class Institute with Chinese characteristics, and uniting science and technology workers in the field of navigation.
Wang Bingnan stressed that we should consciously apply Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era to guide and promote the work, and integrate the requirements of party construction into the daily work. It’s of great importance to take the implementation of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions on building a strong maritime and shipping country as the first issue and task, strengthening the political leadership of the scientific and technological community, and vigorously promoting the spirit of scientists. We should strengthen the construction of first-class institutes with Chinese characteristics in the new era, create first-class journals and international organizations, build high-end think tanks, actively explore and practice, and provide the experience and plans of the Institute for constructing related institutes so as to be effective in casting the soul, enhancing wisdom, correcting thought, and promoting work in due course.
