On September 28, 2022 China International Ship Technology and Safety Forum was held in Xiamen, Fujian Province. The forum was organized by the China Institute of Navigation, Dalian Municipal People's Government, China Merchants Group Co., Ltd., China Waterborne Transport Research Institute, and hosted by the China Shipowners’ Association, Dalian Maritime University, and Huayang Maritime Center Co., Ltd.
As one of the special forums of the China Maritime Day Forum, the China International Ship Technology and Safety Forum has been successfully held for five sessions until this year with the wide support of the industry. This year's theme is " work concertedly to make the high-quality development of shipping greener and smarter".
Zhang Baochen, Executive Vice President of the CIN, was invited to attend the forum and deliver a speech. He said that, in order to further make good use of the carrier of the national legal holiday, the China Maritime Day, we should give full play to the platform of many industry organizations such as the CIN, and give play to the enthusiasm of all relevant sectors of the industry. According to the important statement of the General Secretary Xi Jinping that "an economic power must be a power in maritime and shipping ", the construction of a maritime power, a transportation power, a shipping power and the "Belt and Road" were better served through the development of fruitful and colorful academic, scientific and industrial exchanges. Since the beginning of this year, the annual China Maritime Day Forum has been upgraded and expanded to China Maritime Week, which includes China Maritime Day Forum, CIN Academic Annual Meeting, Navigation Science and Technology Expo, China Maritime Week and a series of mass navigation activities, etc., which will be held from July 10 to 16.
He pointed out that safety, economy, green, convenience and efficiency are the eternal values pursued by the transportation industry and the direction of efforts for the development of navigation and marine business. The shipping industry is currently undergoing two major landmark profound changes, one is the form of ship power and energy is changing, and the other is the high-speed development and promotion of shipping intelligence.
Due to the extensive application of information technology, computer, networking, artificial intelligence and the updating and upgrading of technology, the science and technology has undergone subversive developments. We are living in an era of rapid development of science and technology, and knowledge updating, cross border and interdisciplinarity as well as the collaborative innovation have become the new trend in the development of new technologies.
He expressed his hope that China International Ship Technology and Safety Forum would always stand at the forefront of the development of economy, society and shipping industry, keep its original intention and assume its mission on the road of striving to build a transportation power and a maritime power, and strive to make the Forum gradually become an open, inclusive and efficient international exchange platform, which integrates information exchange, shares resource and offers win-win cooperation.
