2022 “Silk Road and Maritime Transport” International Cooperation Forum was Held in Xiamen

On September 8, the 2022 “Silk Road and Maritime Transport” International Cooperation Forum was held in Xiamen, Fujian Province. The forum was jointly hosted by Fujian Provincial Government and the CIN. Representatives from domestic and foreign port shipping logistics enterprises, industry associations and financial institutions, focusing on the theme of “serving the new pattern, facilitating the flows of the double cycle”, jointly discussed port and shipping cooperation, jointly built the Silk Road channel, and shared economic and trade prosperity.

The main forum was presided over by Zhao Long, governor of Fujian Province, Yin Li, secretary of Fujian Provincial Party Committee, and He Jianzhong, president of the CIN attended the forum and delivered their speeches (to be published separately). Su Wei, deputy secretary general of the National Development and Reform Commission, and Gushi Zhengyan, secretary general of the International Association of Ports and Harbors (IAPH) delivered the video speeches. Li Guoping, safety director of the Ministry of Transport, Zhang Zuqiang, deputy director of the China Meteorological Administration, Lin Ji, deputy general manager of COSCO Shipping Group, Li Baian, deputy general manager of China Merchants Group and other leading guests delivered their keynote speeches. The forum also released the Blue Book of “Silk Road and Maritime Transport” 2021-2022 and the tenth batch of named routes of “Silk Road and Maritime Transport”. At present, there are nearly 260 members of the “Silk Road and Maritime Transport” Alliance, 86 named routes, 29 countries and 102 ports with more than 8,700 shipments and nearly 10 million TEUs of container throughput.

In addition to the main forum, four sub forums have been set up to exchange and discuss on topics such as serving the domestic and international markets and supply chains, enabling Chinese brands to enter the international market, advancing the building and application of big data in port and shipping, and shipping finance to help Silk Road Shipping, etc., and to offer advice and suggestions to expand the influence of the brand “Silk Road Shipping”.
