On September 26, hosted by China Association for Science and Technology, and jointly sponsored by CIN ,Dalian Maritime University and other units, “Maritime Information and Technology Seminar” , one of the Youth Scientists Activities of 2020 China Science and Technology Summit Series of Activities was successfully held in Dalian Maritime University. According to statistics, more than 100 people attended the conference offline and 26000 people attended the conference online, which achieved good results.

Yan Xiaobo, secretary general of CIN, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. He said that today's ocean is a complex system of “physics + information”. The application of new generation of information technology, such as Internet of Things, Internet plus, big data and cloud service platform, in the fields of ocean development, utilization, protection, management and control, is an important means to achieve the strategic goal of “marine power”, and is also the original intention and motive force of this seminar.
As an important social force in the development of maritime science and technology, CIN has been implementing the national policy of independent innovation, key leapfrogging development, supporting development and leading the future. As the main organizer of this seminar, CIN hopes that this seminar will become an important platform for everyone to deeply understand the development of China’s marine industry, marine information cutting-edge technology and practical experience sharing.

The meeting also invited eight well-known experts and scholars in the field of marine information and technology to discuss the “Smart Ocean” strategy and the development trend of marine information and technology from the perspectives of marine Internet of Things, marine communication, marine monitoring, marine big data collection, storage, management and intelligent analysis.
Professor Cui Junhong, founder and president of Shenzhen Smart Ocean Technology Co., Ltd., made a report entitled “Smart ocean and cloud-ocean computing”
Liu Jin, senior engineer of National Marine Information Center, made a report entitled “China's current marine information system and future development trend”.
Professor Ma Shuai of School of Computer, Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics made a report entitled “Approximate Computing of Big Data”.
Professor Liu Hongbo, the discipline leader of Computer Science and Technology in Dalian Maritime University, made a report entitled “Cognitive Computing in Smart Ocean”.
Professor Yu Hong, Dean of Information Engineering School of Dalian Ocean University, made a report entitled “Research status quo and challenges of cross modal systematic marine fishery big data integrated service platform”.
Professor Hu Qing of Dalian Maritime University made a report entitled “Development of Maritime Intelligent Communication and Navigation Technology from the perspective of E-navigation strategy”.
Professor Wei Zhiqiang, Dean of School of Information Science and Engineering of Ocean University of China and director of Supercomputing Center of Pilot National Laboratory of Marine Science and Technology (Qingdao), made a report entitled “Integration and cooperation of Bohai Rim, construction of marine information industry technology demonstration system”.
Professor Ren Kaijun, researcher of National Defense University of Science and Technology and director of Teaching and Research Department of .School of Meteorology and Oceanography, made a report entitled “Big data and numerical forecast system of meteorology and oceanography”.
Finally, under the chairmanship of Professor Zhang Jun, vice president of School of Information Science and Technology of Dalian Maritime University, the experts answered the hot questions of marine information technology research raised by the audience in the form of group discussion, and put forward pertinent suggestions for the future research.

This seminar is a series of activities of China Science and Technology summit.
