China Maritime Museum Makes Collections Related to the Epidemic Prevention and Control

At the beginning of 2020, a novel coronavirus across the country suddenly occurred, affecting the hearts of the people of the whole country and even the Chinese all over the world. In this anti-epidemic battle involving various industries and fields, there are not only countless medical workers who bravely go forward with their touching stories; there are residential community anti-epidemic workers who bravely shoulder the responsibility and charge ahead; there are also various port and shipping management organizations, shipping enterprises and institutions that unite as one, act actively and face difficulties.

As a cultural platform for recording the history of China’s navigation and disseminating China’s maritime civilization, China Maritime Museum has the responsibility and obligation to record history and preserve memories for the majority of harbour workers fighting against the epidemic. Therefore, according to China Maritime Museum Donation Measures and other relevant regulations, combined with the actual situation, we are now collecting from the whole society a wide range of relevant material evidence reflecting the epidemic prevention and control by port and shipping organizations and maritime workers. The relevant matters are announced as follows:

Ⅰ. Collection Range

  1. Physical Objects
  1. Protective equipment related to the epidemic prevention and control by front-line workers of port and shipping management organizations, enterprises and institutions and individual volunteers (collect unused ones without affecting anti-epidemic materials reserves);
  2. Application letters, diaries, WeChat screenshots of signing up the anti-epidemic battle, mandatory accompany orders and compulsory rest orders reflecting the active action and responsibility of anti-epidemic workers;
  3. Work notes, work cards, registration forms, thermometers, armbands, disinfection appliances, publicity banners, records of use of anti-epidemic materials, etc. reflecting the front-line work of various port and shipping management organizations, enterprises and institutions during the anti-epidemic management;
  4. Physical materials reflecting the important role played by the port and shipping management organizations, enterprises and institutions in the anti-epidemic (such as ensuring epidemic prevention and control, rapid customs clearance and rapid transshipment of materials for resumption of production; supervision of ships entering and leaving ports and crew management, etc.);
  5. Physical materials reflecting the advanced people and advanced events of various port and shipping management organizations, enterprises and institutions in epidemic prevention and control, resumption of production.
  1. Files and Documents

The anti-epidemic documents deployed by the port and shipping management organizations at all levels, the announcements issued by various departments for the epidemic prevention and control, the guidelines for the prevention and control of the resumption of work and production, the data of the outbreak, publicity posters, and popular science materials on the epidemic.

  1. Image, Audio and Video

Photographs, sound recordings, videos, short videos and paper media reports reflecting typical figures and deeds of the port and shipping management organizations, enterprises and institutions in the epidemic prevention and control.

  1. Related Art Works

Paintings, calligraphy, poetry manuscripts, song manuscripts and other art works created by various port and shipping management organizations, the personnel of enterprises and institutions (including employees and retirees) to embody the epidemic prevention and control, as well as other related art works created by people from all walks of life that reflect the port and shipping industry to fight against the epidemic.

Ⅱ. Collection Methods

  1. Strictly follow Law of the People’s Republic of China on the Protection of Cultural Relics, Regulations on the Implementation of the Law of the People’s Republic of China on the Protection of Cultural Relics, Regulations on Museums, and relevant laws and regulations on intellectual property protection in our country.
  2. Accept donations from social organizations, institutions, non-governmental organizations and individuals, and accept the transfer, allocation and transfer of relevant units.
  3. All collections are donated free of charge.
  4. Providers should write a description about 100 words. The description of photographs and videos should involve the author, name, time, address, person, events, etc. The description of physical objects should involve the owner, source, type, texture, events and other basic elements.
