Liu Peng, President of Waterborne Transportation Research Institute of the Ministry of Transport, Visits China Institute of Navigation

On April 24, Liu Peng, President of the Waterborne Transportation Research Institute of the Ministry of Transport (hereinafter referred to as ("WTRI"), led a delegation to China Institute of Navigation. The two sides held an in‑depth symposium on further deepening innovation‑driven cooperation, advancing the commercialization of scientific and technological achievements, and coordinating arrangements for the China Maritime Day Forum. Yan Xinping, President of China Institute of Navigation, together with relevant senior officials of CIN, warmly received the delegation.

On behalf of CIN, President Yan Xinping extended a warm welcome to President Liu Peng and his entourage. He pointed out that CIN and WTRI enjoy a solid foundation and broad prospects for cooperation. He hoped that this meeting would serve as a key opportunity to pool development synergy and deepen pragmatic collaboration. Both sides will join hands in scientific and technological innovation, achievement commercialization, talent cultivation and other fields, support the development of a powerful transportation and shipping nation, and jointly inject new impetus into the high‑quality development of China’s waterborne transport industry.

President Liu Peng expressed sincere gratitude to CIN for its long‑standing support to WTRI. Based on the development needs of both parties, he put forward specific proposals on strengthening academic cooperation and coordinating follow‑up work for China Maritime Day. During the discussion, the two sides thoroughly explored feasible cooperation models in priority areas including sci‑tech achievement evaluation, high‑caliber talent nomination, science and technology award application, as well as the formulation and revision of standards, and reached broad consensus.

Li Shixin, Executive Vice President of CIN, Secretary‑General Liu Shun, Deputy Secretaries‑General Peng Yan and Yue Peng, and relevant staff from the Secretariat of CIN attended the meeting. Feng Yue, Vice President of WTRI, together with department heads from the Science and Technology Innovation Division, Intelligent Technology Center, Ship Engineering Center and other relevant departments of WTRI, joined the exchange.
