On the morning of April 14, 2026, Liu Shun, Secretary‑General of China Institute of Navigation, and Liu Ying, Deputy Secretary‑General, led a delegation to Peking University for a research visit and held a symposium with the Institute of Marine Equipment and Engineering of Peking University. The symposium was attended by Duan Huiling, Director of the Division of Engineering and Dean of the College of Engineering, Lyu Pengyu and Li Hongyuan, Deputy Directors of the Institute of Marine Equipment and Engineering, as well as Yan Jiale, He Ming and Ao Yu, Associate Researchers at the College of Mechanics and Engineering Science.
At the meeting, the Institute of Marine Equipment and Engineering gave an introduction to its institutional profile, research layout and latest progress. A special report was presented on the research background, technical features, R&D progress and application prospects of water‑air cross‑domain vehicles, demonstrating Peking University’s research strength and innovative achievements in marine equipment and engineering. The institute stressed that it values exchanges and cooperation with China Institute of Navigation, and expects closer ties to expand collaboration in academic exchange, talent cultivation, scientific and technological innovation, and commercialization of research findings.
Secretary‑General Liu Shun briefed participants on the progress made by CIN in institutional development, academic exchanges, young talent support, sci‑tech achievement evaluation, award application, standard formulation and sci‑tech journal development. He noted that CIN has long focused on maritime sci‑tech innovation and talent development, building high‑level platforms for academic communication and professional technical services. The association promotes in‑depth integration of industry, academia, research and end‑application, delivering solid support for the high‑quality development of maritime science and technology.
Both sides reached a consensus on deeper cooperation in talent nomination, young talent support and scientific achievement evaluation.
Following the meeting, Secretary‑General Liu Shun and the delegation toured the laboratory for water‑air cross‑domain vehicles to learn in detail about the construction of research platforms and technology R&D activities.
