From June 11 to 13, 2026, Liu Shun, Secretary-General of China Institute of Navigation (CIN), led a delegation to conduct research and exchange activities at CSSC 708 Institute, Jiangnan Shipyard (Group) Co., Ltd., Shanghai Ship and Shipping Research Institute Co., Ltd., and University of Shanghai for Science and Technology.
On the afternoon of June 11, the delegation visited CSSC 708 Institute and toured its Achievement Exhibition Hall to learn about the institute's development history, scientific research achievements and technological innovation progress since its founding. Wu Gang, Chief Expert of CSSC and Chief Designer of Xuelong 2, attended the symposium. Both sides introduced their institutional overview and key work progress, and conducted in-depth exchanges on sci-tech achievement evaluation, achievement transformation, and the role of CIN in supporting scientific and technological innovation.
On the morning of June 12, the delegation attended the 2026 Polar Marine Equipment Science and Technology Forum held at Jiangnan Shipyard and delivered an address. Accompanied by Lin Qingshan, Deputy General Manager of Jiangnan Shipyard, the delegation visited the Jiangnan Shipyard Exhibition Hall and the icebreaker Xuelong 2. The group gained an in-depth understanding of the shipyard's century-long development course, historical status, major achievements, mission responsibilities and future development blueprint. The two sides exchanged views on technological innovation of polar marine equipment and industrial collaborative development, and reached a consensus on further deepening cooperation.
On the afternoon of June 12, the delegation visited Shanghai Ship and Shipping Research Institute Co., Ltd. (SSSRI) and held a symposium. Lü Yibin, General Manager of the Science and Technology Innovation Department of SSSRI, attended the meeting. At the symposium, Liu Shun introduced CIN's progress in organizational construction, academic exchanges, sci-tech achievement evaluation, standard formulation, award application and sci-tech journal development. The two sides discussed project evaluation, standard system development, and the promotion and application of scientific and technological innovation achievements.
On the morning of June 13, the delegation visited University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, inspected Shanghai Technical Innovation Service Platform for Underwater Engineering Detection and relevant test equipment, and held an exchange symposium. The attendees included Professor Zhu Daqi, Hujiang Distinguished Professor of University of Shanghai for Science and Technology; Professor Zhang Yun, Dean of the School of Information, Shanghai Ocean University; and Professor Wu Huafeng, Deputy Director of the Graduate School of Shanghai Maritime University. Professor Zhu briefed the participants on the university's latest research progress and achievements in deep-sea and open-ocean technologies. All parties exchanged views on the transformation and promotion of research achievements, standard project initiation and resource docking via CIN's platform, and reached a preliminary consensus on further strengthening bilateral cooperation.
