Secretary-General Liu Shun Leads Delegation to Nanjing Hydraulic Research Institute for Exchange
On May 8, 2026, Liu Shun, Secretary-General of the China Institute of Navigation (CIN), led a delegation to the Nanjing Hydraulic Research Institute (NHRI) - an institution jointly administered by the Ministry of Water Resources, the Ministry of Transport, and the National Energy Administration - for an exchange and fact - finding mission. Pan Junning, Vice President of NHRI; Guan Yunfei, Director of the Scientific Research Management Department; and the heads of all research institutes attended the symposium.
During the meeting, Vice President Pan provided an overview of NHRI's historical evolution, current institutional profile, research priorities, and recent progress. He reiterated NHRI's strong commitment to engaging with CIN's work and expressed the institute's readiness to build on its existing strengths to deepen collaboration with CIN in talent development, scientific and technological innovation, and the commercialization of research outcomes.
Secretary - General Liu Shun briefed the attendees on CIN's recent developments in institutional capacity building, academic exchange programs, talent recommendation mechanisms, outcome evaluation, award applications, standards formulation, and journal publishing. He expressed gratitude to NHRI for its longstanding support in research evaluation and talent cultivation, and looked forward to deeper cooperation to jointly serve the high - quality development of the maritime sector.

After the meeting, the delegation toured the Nanjing Tiexinqiao Experimental Base for Water Science and Engineering, where they gained an in-depth understanding of the experimental and technological R&D efforts underpinning water transport infrastructure.
