From October 27 to 28, Yan Xinping, Chairman of the 10th Council of China Institute of Navigation, Li Shixin, Executive Vice Chairman, and Liu Shun, Secretary General, led a delegation to visit and exchange ideas with relevant departments of the Ministry of Transport, as well as related societies and units.
On the morning of October 28, Yan Xinping's delegation went to the Ministry of Transport and paid separate visits to the Department of Water Transport, the Department of Science and Technology, the Maritime Safety Administration, the Department of Personnel and Education, and other departments. Yan Xinping briefed on the council renewal of the Chinese Society of Navigation and its key priorities for future work, and expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Transport and its relevant departments for their long-term support and assistance to the institute’s work. Leaders congratulated Yan Xinping on his election as Chairman of the 10th Council of China Institute of Navigation, affirmed the CIN's long-term efforts in promoting scientific and technological innovation, academic exchanges, science popularization and other aspects in the maritime field, and stated that they would continue to support the Society in carrying out various work. At the Maritime Safety Administration of the Ministry of Transport, Xu Wei, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director, expressed the hope to strengthen cooperation with the Society in areas such as ship navigation safety and maritime science and technology development. At the Department of Water Transport, Director Yang Huaxiong, Deputy Director Guo Qingsong and others introduced the latest developments and new requirements for the preparation of the Maritime Day Forum, and stated that they would continue to support the Society in co-hosting this important event in the water transport field together with the Water Transport Institute of the Ministry of Transport. At the Department of Science and Technology, Director Xu Wenqiang indicated that the department would provide support to the Society in aspects such as key scientific research project research, promotion and evaluation of scientific and technological achievements, recommendation of Maritime Science and Technology Awards, and internationalization of standards. Yu Min, Full-time Deputy Director of the Department of Personnel and Education of the Ministry of Transport, expressed that the Ministry would further standardize the management and guidance of relevant associations, and hoped to continue strengthening ties with CIN.
On October 27, Yan Xinping's delegation held separate discussions and exchanges with the Chinese Society of Highway and Transportation, the China Water Transport Construction Association, and the China Diving and Salvage Association. Yan Xinping introduced the council renewal situation of the 10th Council of China Institute of Navigation, and all units extended warm congratulations. At the Chinese Society of Highway and Transportation, Yan Xinping's delegation had in-depth exchanges with Weng Mengyong, Chairman, and Zhang Jinquan, Executive Vice Chairman. Both parties stated that they would take this exchange as an opportunity to strengthen cooperation and contribute wisdom and strength to the high-quality development of the integrated waterway and highway transportation system during the "15th Five-Year Plan" period. At the China Water Transport Construction Association, they discussed in-depth cooperation and complementary advantages in fields such as navigation, waterway transportation, and water transport engineering with Jiang Mingbao, Executive Vice Chairman. At the China Diving and Salvage Association, they exchanged views on the development of qualification training, science and technology awards, and group standards with Chen Biwu, Chairman, and Chen Liping, Vice Chairman and Secretary General.
