The 2025 China National Maritime Day Forum and Main Event concluded and the event will be held next year in Yangzhou, Jiangsu Province.

The 2025 China Maritime Day Forum and the main event of China Maritime Day concluded in Boao, Qionghai City, Hainan Province on the afternoon of July 12th. It was announced that the main event of China Maritime Day in 2026 will be held in Yangzhou, Jiangsu Province. He Jianzhong, the president of the China Institute of Navigation, Gu Gang, a member of the Leading Party Members Group and Vice Governor of the People's Government of Hainan Province, and Li Zhongjun, a member of the Leading Party Members Group and vice governor of the Jiangsu Provincial Government, attended the closing ceremony and passed the China Maritime Day event flag in a relay manner.

Executive vice chairman of the China Institute of Navigation, Li Shixin, introduced that this year's main event of China Maritime Day closely revolved around the theme of "Green Navigation, Striving for New Achievements", organizing over 20 related activities including forums, discussions, and exchanges. More than 130 authoritative experts and representatives from management departments and enterprises focused on topics such as green shipping, new energy vessels, and low (zero) carbon emissions of ship greenhouse gases, actively exploring innovative development paths, exchanging navigation technologies, knowledge, and achievements, creating an atmosphere of "knowing and loving navigation", and stimulating the public's strong interest in caring for the ocean and loving navigation. The event was characterized by a clear theme, greater authority and internationality; it was more extensive and influential, reaching the public and the front line; it was held in a simple, practical, and efficient manner with strong organizational support.

Yang Huaxiong, Director of the Department of Water Transport of the Ministry of Transport and Director of the Office of the China Maritime Day Organizing Committee, stated in his speech that in order to promote independent innovation in marine science and technology, develop the marine industry, and advance the high-quality development of maritime transport, efforts must be made to forge ahead on the new journey and blaze a path of maritime strength with Chinese characteristics. He emphasized the need to accelerate transformation and upgrading, continuously foster and expand new quality productive forces in navigation, and adhere to the principle of win-win cooperation to achieve sustainable high-quality development.

It has injected unprecedented blue energy into both the Hainan Free Trade Port and Qionghai. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the State Council's designation of China Maritime Day. Over the past two decades, the Maritime Day events have closely followed the themes of the times and industry transformations, attracting tens of millions of participants at home and abroad each year. The events have played an active role in preserving maritime culture, promoting the spirit of navigation in the new era, popularizing maritime knowledge, and accelerating the development of a maritime power and a shipping power. China Maritime Day has become an important platform for industry exchange that gathers wisdom, leads development, and highlights China's sense of global responsibility.
