Recently, CIN was commended by the Organizing Committee of National Science and Technology Week for its warm service and excellent performance. It was the first time for the Organizing Committee of National Science and Technology Week to give a public commendation to national societies with excellent organization.
In May 2019, according to the requirements of the Notice on holding the 2019 National Science and Technology Week by China Association for Science and Technology, the Central Propaganda Department and the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Notice to the General Office of the Ministry of Transport on Issuing the Work Points of Science Popularization on Transportation and Plan on Transportation Science and Technology Week in 2019, CIN encouraged relevant institutions to participate in the 2019 National Science and Technology Week. The theme was ‘Rejuvenate Science and Technology, Benefit the People’. With the leadership of Zhejiang Institute of Navigation, Jiangsu Institute of Navigation, China Navigation Museum and the other institutions, more than ten activities were carried out, including ‘2019 China Youth Science and Technology Knowledge Contest’, ‘Exhibition of Navigation Science Popularization and Experiencing Navigation’, ‘Nantong’s Marine and Vehicle Model Competition towards Students from Primary and Secondary schools and Undergraduates’, ‘The Advocation of Science Popularization to Benefit People’, ‘Boat Fun of 2019 Science Popularization Activities with the theme of Boat Appreciation’. These activities aroused great public concern from about 100,000participants.
Recently, in order to implement the Outline of the National Scheme of Scientific Literacy for Nationals, CIN actively implemented the science popularization in accordance with the arrangement of authorities and the work plan. CIN gave full play to its coordination capacity to make the science popularization of navigation enter into a new stage while carrying out effective science popularization in various ways.
