The 17th General Assembly of the International Association of Institutes of Navigation (IAIN) was held on November 9, 2021. All full members, associate members and corporate members of IAIN attended the meeting. And Zhang Baochen, Executive Vice President of the China Institute of Navigation (CIN), and Yan Xiaobo, Secretary General of CIN, attended the meeting on behalf of CIN.

The meeting reviewed and adopted the development plan of IAIN for the next five years, the financial clearing for the first three years and the budget for the next three years and elected the new IAIN President, Senior Vice-President (i.e. President-elect), Vice-President and Secretary General and other Executive Committee members. Zhang Baochen, Executive Vice-President of CIN, was elected as Senior Vice-President. The deep involvement of CIN in IAIN affairs and governance will create better conditions for China to further develop international science and technology exchanges and cooperation and serve the self-reliance and self-improvement of science and technology.
The IAIN World Congress and the 18th General Assembly will be held in China in 2024, and Zhang Baochen introduced the preparations of IAIN World Congress in 2024.
