On May 12, 2021, China Institute of Navigation (CIN) successfully held 2021 technical service conference of magnetic compass
Fan Lei, director of Crew Department of China MSA, Zhang Baochen, executive vice president of CIN, Yan Xiaobo, secretary general of CIN, secretary generals and directors of the local magnetic compass divisions of CIN, a total of 22 people attended this meeting. The meeting was presided over by Liu Shun, deputy secretary general of CIN.
At the meeting, Zhang Baochen, executive vice president, warmly welcomed the arrival of all guests and made a brief summary and analysis of the relevant work of CIN’S Technical Service Department of magnetic compass. Suggestions and requirements for the future development of magnetic compass technical service were put forward from four aspects, including improving the quality of technical service of magnetic compass, strengthening its management, building a team of correction personnel of magnetic compass, optimizing the cooperation mechanism between Technical Service Department of magnetic compass and each other divisions. At the same time, Zhang Baochen introduced the tasks of the Institute in 2021, the double first class construction and the future development of the Institute.
On behalf of Crew Department, Fan Lei congratulated on the opening of technical service conference of magnetic compass of CIN, affirmed and praised the achievements made by the Institute in recent years, and further emphasized the role of magnetic compass technical service in ensuring the navigation safety of ships. Fan pointed out that there was a long way to go for magnetic compass technology to serve the future, and expected that the Institute would continue to play the role of link and bridge in the future work of magnetic compass technology service.
At the meeting, Yan Xiaobo, Secretary General, introduced Report on the Technical Service of Magnetic Compass in 2021. The Report reviewed and summarized magnetic compass technical service in 2020, and made corresponding analysis and explanation on the issues encountered in the technical service and management of the magnetic compass of the Institute and put forward the task requirements for the future development of the Technical Service Department of magnetic compass.
In the commendation section of the meeting, CIN commended the 5 divisions, 5 management personnel and 14 correction personnel for their good performance in the management and calibration of magnetic compass technical service in 2020.
The representatives of magnetic compass divisions of Shandong, Zhejiang and Guangzhou shared their experience in technical service, calibration and management of magnetic compass.
Finally, the participants discussed the problems encountered in the technical service and management of the magnetic compass mentioned in the report.
