Notice on the Nomination of Candidates for Fellows CIN 2023

To all unit members, branch organizations, local maritime societies, and relevant personnel:

     As part of our efforts to attract and encourage distinguished experts, scholars and craftsmen from maritime and relevant sectors into the cause of our national maritime science and technology, we are launching the nomination process for fellows of the China Institute of Navigation(CIN) 2023. The nomination is in line with the Management Measure for Fellows of CIN (Trial) (CIN [2023] No. 4), now we are initiating the nomination process for nominees for Fellows of the China Institute of Navigation for the year 2023. Please find below the specific details and arrangements.

  1. Qualifications for Fellowship Candidates
  1. Candidates must maintain a senior membership within the institute for a minimum of 5 consecutive years.
  2. Candidates should possess a senior professional title. For members who have held important positions in the Institute and relevant international organizations, or have held significant technical or managerial positions in domestic and foreign institutions, certain flexibility can be considered.
  3. Candidates should have profound academic achievements, with significant inventions and innovations in the maritime field and related disciplines, or have made significant contributions in areas such as scientific research, teaching, management, production, or have made outstanding contributions to the development of the institute and international exchanges and cooperation.
  1. Nomination of Candidates

     Nominations for Fellowship candidates shall be based on the principles of voluntary participation and strict review. Nominations can be made by individuals or institutions.

     Fellows nominees should complete the Nomination Form for Candidates for Fellows of CIN (refer to Attachment 1) and can choose to be nominated by individuals or institutions. For individual nominations, it's essential to have joint nominations from 2 or more valid nominators, who must be executive directors of the organization or recognized Fellows, and each valid nominator can only nominate 1 candidate at a time. For institutional nominations, the nominating body must be a professional committee, unit member, or provincial-level maritime society of the organization, and each valid nominating institution can only nominate 1 candidate at a time.

  1. Submission of Materials
  1. Paper materials: Original copy of the Nomination Form for Candidates for Fellows of CIN, in duplicate; relevant supporting documents, in one copy.
  2. Electronic version materials: Word and PDF versions (with stamped and signed scans) of the Nomination Form for Candidates for Fellows of CIN, as well as relevant supporting documents, and the List of Nominees for Fellows of CIN (refer to Attachment 2).
  3. Deadline for submission: September 30, 2023.
  4. Other requirements and  instructions: The Nomination Form for Candidates for Fellows of CIN and supporting documents should be compiled into separate volumes. All submitted materials will not be returned.
